Subject: Advanced Geophysical Data Analysis
1. Let B(Z) = 1 +Z +Z^2 +Z^3 +Z^4 +Z^5 . Graph the coefficients of [B(Z)]^3
2. Calculate the convolution of the two time series , give the procedures in detail.
a_k ={6,5,9,3, -4,-7,5,1,5,8,1,2,8,9} and b_k ={0.5 , 0.5}.
Analyze the results and explain why this operation is called a moving average.
