How does Cronkite’s work differ from journalism today? What has changed in the field of journalism? Have these changes improved journalism? Why or why not?

In Chapter 6 of Hillbilly Elegy, Vance recounts a parable that Mamaw often told about a man caught in a flood; the message is that God helps those who help themselves. (If you don’t remember this, or if you want to refresh your memory, it’s on page 86, about halfway down.)
