Psychology Question

For this assignment, you will design and conduct a small field experiment to test your own hypothesis on the topic of conformity/compliance (discussed in the social psychology chapter in your book). A field experiment is an experiment, where you have more than one condition of an independent variable and assess how each of those conditions affects participants’ scores on a dependent variable. However, because the study is conducted in “the field” (i.e., a naturalistic setting) it’s called a field experiment. For this assignment, the dependent variable we are interested in influencing is conformity of your participants. You will decide for yourself what the independent variable will be, as well as what the conditions of it will be, and you will decide how exactly to measure the dependent variable of “conformity”. See below as well as the rubric for more information on grading

  1. First, think of a simple behavior or response that could illustrate conformity. You could also think of a simple request that you will ask people to comply with. Your dependent variable (i.e., the data you will gather) is whether or not each person engaged in the behavior, responded the way you wanted them to, or complied with your request. The behavior/response/request should not be anything dangerous or unethical.
  2. Then, identify a variable that you think would make another person more or less likely to conform. This could be something about the way the request is made, something about the person who is being asked, something about the person who is doing the requesting (you), or something going on in the environment or situation. This is your independent variable. You should specify two conditions or groups of the independent variable.
  3. Translate your theory (idea) into a hypothesis and state that hypothesis clearly in your paper. A hypothesis is a testable prediction about how one variable affects another. Your hypothesis should predict how your independent variable will affect the dependent variable (conformity/compliance). Specifically, it should state which of the two conditions of the independent variable you predict will have more or less conformity/compliance than the other condition.
  4. Next, design and run a field experiment to test your hypothesis by gathering empirical data. You should gather data from at least 8 people total (4 in each of your two conditions). For each person, make sure you keep track of:
    1. which of the two conditions they are in (independent variable)
    2. whether or not they conformed/complied (dependent variable)

Note: Your participants can be people you know well, people you know slightly, or strangers. You should not tell them what your hypothesis is or that they are involved in a study. Take care to develop a procedure that does not harm anyone (including yourself or your participants) in any way.

  1. Type your paper in a new document. Your paper should be approximately 2-3 pages long and should answer the following questions thoroughly:
    1. What was your hypothesis? Why did you expect it to be the case?
    1. What did you do to test your hypothesis? That is, describe your study:
      1. What was the conformity/compliance assessed, and how did you measure whether or not people conformed/complied?
      2. What was your independent variable, and what were the two conditions?
      3. Describe the participants in each condition.
      4. Where, when, how did you conduct the study?
    1. What were your results?
      1. How many people conformed/complied with your request in each of the two different conditions?
      2. Do your results support your hypothesis? How so, or how not?

IMPORTANT NOTE: As part of the ethics of this assignment, you must consider how your interaction with participants may affect them and take care not to do anything that would create pain or discomfort for participants or passersby.

Examples of behaviors that would be inappropriate, if not unethical, include:

  • Romantic or sexual comments or propositions of any type (actual or implied)
  • Encouraging or offering the use of illegal or harmful substances
  • Encouraging someone to say or do something that might harm themselves or anyone else (physically, emotionally, socially, academically, etc.).

If you are unsure of whether your planned procedure may harm people in any way, please consult your professor before you do it. Assignments involving unethical or harmful procedures will earn an automatic 0, regardless of the quality of the research design or the paper.

Psychology Question

This assignment A11 has you complete an online version of the Big Five Inventory, which is described in your textbook. You also are asked to incorporate textbook material into explaining how you developed some of the personality characteristics that make you the unique person that you are.

PART 1

Read the attached article titled “ These Personality Traits Predict Covid-19 Compliance”, which uses the Big 5 Traits to measure personality and then correlates these traits with how well we comply with Covid-19 prevention strategies including wearing masks and keeping a safe physical distance between ourself and others.

Write a brief reaction to this research. Last week you were asked to read an article focused on the psychological concept of cognitive dissonance and how it can be used to explain some instances of noncompliance with recommendations for mask use, social distancing, etc. This week I’ve found another article that will ask you to think about individual personality factors and their connection to compliance with pandemic recommendations. Your ability to apply the concepts covered in this course to real world experiences is a goal of this course; learning how psychology influences nearly every aspect of our being is something I hope you’re also experiencing. Psychology and it’s many principles used to explain human behavior can be applied to just about any human situation you can think of!

Read this article and think of what the Big Five personality characteristics are and what each says about human thought and behavior. Then discuss how surprised or not surprised you are by the connections noted in this short article. What more would you like to add to the conversation about the many significant challenges facing our society today, and what you’re learning in this course might help you better understand? Your thoughts are welcome here!

Here is a link to the article: psychologytoday.com-These Personality Traits Predict COVID-19 Compliance.pdf

Psychology Question

Overview

Your assessment paper on the final Case Study of Danial, Parts 1, 2, and 3 will provide you with an opportunity to consider psychopathology issues from a developmental perspective, and to assess the differences between children, adolescents, and adults. This assessment will provide you with a further understanding of psychopathology and improve your diagnostic skills across the life span.

The Case Study of Danial provides three scenarios at different stages in his life. These scenarios each include:

  • A developmental history.
  • Family background.
  • Reason(s) for referral.
  • Basic assessment results.
  • Issues in treatment.

After you read each scenario, you will be asked to respond to the same series of questions and to integrate information at each stage of Danial’s life.

Use the Case Study Response Guide to format your assignment for each of the three scenarios. Complete your assessment paper by adding a Part 4 at the end, as described in the instructions.

Instructions

Respond to the questions below ( The Questions to Address for Danial…) for each part of Danial’s case study. Be particularly careful to integrate information from each preceding developmental stage into your responses, as they provide you with valuable history. Then answer the final questions as Part 4.

Think of each part of the case study as your first exposure to Danial, but in each successive part, you will be expected to consider all material from the previous scenarios. For example:

  • Part 1: When you respond to the questions in Part 1, all the information you know about Danial is contained in Part 1. Your answers will relate to only this scenario.
  • Part 2: When you respond to the questions in Part 2, you will have access to the expanded history. Respond to the scenario presented in Danial, Part 2, but also be aware of his previous history detailed in Part 1. Think of Part 1 as information from a medical record. Be sure to integrate this information into your response to the questions in Part 2.
  • Part 3: When you respond to Part 3, you will have access to the full history. Respond to the information presented in Danial, Part 3 at that point. Be sure to integrate his previous history from Parts 1 and 2 into your Part 3 answer.
  • Part 4: This is a separate section designed to integrate important issues from this course.

The Questions to Address for Danial, After Each Part (1, 2, and 3)

  1. What are your diagnostic hypotheses for Danial in this scenario? Justify your conclusions.
  2. Describe what further diagnostic information you need (what further diagnostic evaluation is warranted) at the end of this scenario.
  3. From a diathesis-stress perspective, what impact do the cultural, ethnic, and psychosexual issues have on Danial and his family in this scenario, and what other issues may play a role?

Part 4 Questions and Issues

  1. Given Danial’s family background and his open homosexuality, what cultural and ethnic factors do you need to be aware of at the different stages of his life, and how would you deal with them in arriving at your diagnoses? Give your reasoning with supporting documentation.
  2. Compare and contrast the changing roles of psychosexual diagnoses in the DSM text since the 1950s.

Assessment Requirements

To achieve a successful final assessment outcome, you are expected to meet the following requirements:

  • Written communication: Written communication is free of errors that detract from the overall message.
  • Thoroughness: The paper must address each question completely. Note: Do not restate the questions in your responses.
  • APA formatting: Resources and citations are formatted according to APA (6th Edition) style and formatting.
  • Length of paper: Minimum of 12–15 typed double-spaced pages, excluding title page, table of contents, and reference page.
  • Font and font size: Arial, 10 point.

Note: Your instructor may also use the APA Writing Feedback Rubric to provide additional feedback on your academic writing. The writing feedback rubric does not affect your assignment grade, but its feedback may factor into the grading criteria, if professional communication and writing is a course competency. Evaluate your own work using this rubric. Refer to the Learner Guide for instructions on viewing instructor feedback.

To add info, explain your hypothesis and identify the independent and dependent variable. my understanding is that we are explain Stroop effect (types, flaws, etc.) then making a hypothesis we can test about numeric Stroop. You can do your hypothesis on the extra credit Stroop effect or the topic that you picked of your own. Like example does “The Stroop Effect Relating and its Relation to Those Who Struggle with ADHD”

She told me that she has some students who are hypothesizing their topic and some who are hypothesizing the Stroop effect that we did in class. I will upload a pdf named number Stroop Task lists which is the extra credit assignment.

Then justify your hypothesis with the Theories of the Stroop effect.

The next section is the methods section is the details of the experiment right after the introduction. Methods section is an explanation of the details of the experiment so basically, you’ll talk about who performed the experiment which was yourself I submitted the “Number Stroop Tasks lists” .pdf below. What you did? what materials you had? what you measured and how you measured it? Does not have to be a long-detailed section we just want the reader to understand what the experiment was about. Is the study actually measuring what the authors explain, your reliability and can the results be replicated?

The final section is the results section refer to “The Results.pdf”

Altogether should be able 8 pages and reference section is a separate page at least 7 to 8 sources.

Psychology Question

Please download and print the download. Carefully read the instructions and complete the scale for yourself. Next, downloadto download instructions to help you score your responses to create an overall amount of perceived stress over the past month. Finally, reflect upon your results on the scale and respond to the following prompts with at least 3 full sentences under each.

1) Report your perceived stress score. Does your score on the scale accurately reflect the amount of perceived stress you have experienced over the past month? If not, why? If so, what types of events contribute to this? Keep in mind that scores on the scale can range from 0-40 with higher scores reflecting higher levels of perceived stress.

2) Refer to the norm table on the scoring document and compare your perceived stress score with those of the demographiccategories to which you identify under gender, age, and race. The data were gathered from a representative sample of participants who completed the scale to determine a mean level of perceived stress within each category. How do you compare? If you do not see yourself represented in the reported categories, how does it make you feel when scientific research lacks representation of individuals with similar identity to yourself? What can researchers do to ensure a more representative sample in the future?

3) There appears to be observable differences in the perceived stress reported across different race categories with White individuals reporting the least amount of perceived stress in the sample. Do you think the results across the race categories reflect perceived stress throughout American society? Why or why not?

4) How do you cope with your perceived stress? Are your approaches to coping healthy or unhealthy? Why or why not? Do you feel like they help you mitigate the short-term effects of stress? How do they help with alleviating the long-term effects of stress?

5) How has Module 6 contributed to your understanding of stress, its effects on health, and ways to reduce stress in your life?

Psychology Question

Many people believe, and some research suggests, that intervention has its best potential for change if it is initiated at the earliest possible point. This is also the position of the juvenile court system and one of the main reasons for its primary goal: the habilitation of the juvenile delinquent. As a result, juvenile courts often look to professionals to assist in directing habilitative services. Forensic psychology professionals are often asked to conduct assessments of juveniles in order to begin the habilitative process. Violent risk assessments in particular are important to the juvenile courts when making decisions of placement. For example, can a juvenile be habilitated in the community without putting others at significant risk? Or, does the juvenile pose such a future threat that a confined setting is the best alternative? As is the case with adults, the answers to such questions rely on the proper forensic assessment.

One of the hardest decisions forensic psychology professionals may face is how to make appropriate recommendations that will protect not only the minor, but also the community. While they may be minors, juveniles who commit violent crimes can pose a substantial risk to their communities.

In this Discussion, you will review all the Learning Resources for this week—particularly the media, in which you will witness juveniles who have been sentenced as adults. You will also identify other criminal events that could influence the decision of a juvenile being sentenced as an adult verses as a minor.

To prepare

  • Review all the information provided in the Learning Resources.

Piaget Application Paper

Guidelines for the Piagetian Observation Project

For several chapters, we have been discussing Piaget’s view on cognitive development. He asserts that there are certain milestones that occur at each of his 4 stages, meaning that at each stage, infants and children should be able to “do” certain things. When they can accomplish these tasks, it shows that they are developing and progressing through the stages. This observation project provides you with an opportunity to apply Piagetian concepts to an interaction with an infant, child, or teen and to test whether or not he’s right in this specific instance.

Instructions

On the following pages, there are three paper options to choose from. You need to choose ONE of the options to perform with an age-appropriate participant. After you select which observation project to conduct and have an infant/child/adolescent to work with, complete the observation as specified in these instructions. You must include the corresponding appendix (worksheet) with your paper.

You will submit a 2-3 page paper that includes the following information:

  • Brief Introduction: Include the following:
    • Statement of purpose
    • Some background information about Piaget’s theory (general information about the theory, general information about the 4 stages, specific information about the stage you will be studying, information about the task associated with the stage you will be observing)
Note: When discussing Piaget’s theory, you may use your text and class lectures.
    • A description of your subject (age, gender, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status).
  • Procedure:
    • Describe everything that you did with the participant that differs from the procedure I specified.
  • Results:
    • Describe, in detail, the participant’s responses.
  • Conclusions:
    • How did your participant perform? Was he/she able to complete the task associated with that particular stage? How do you know?Explain.
    • Based on your participant’s performance, what stage do you think he/she is in?Why do you think that?Explain.
    • Was his/her behavior and abilities as Piaget’s theory would have expected?Do you agree with Piaget, in this case? Why or Why not?Explain. There are additional questions associated with each option.Don’t forget to include those in your conclusion section.
  • Notes:Include your observation notes at the end.

Formatting guidelines

  • Use APA style guidelines (i.e., typed, 12-pt Times New Roman font, double-spacing, and 1-inch margins all around).
  • Use APA style citations and reference page.See APA Style Citations section on next page for more information.
  • Papers should be 2-3 full pages long (body only – title page and reference page not included in page count).

Submission guidelines

  • You MUST submit completed worksheet (Appendix A) with your paper. How do you do this?
    • After the worksheet is filled out, scan and save it as an image file (.jpeg, .jpg, .gif, .tiff, etc.) to your computer. If you do not have a scanner, you can take a high-resolution picture of the worksheet.Just make sure your picture is clear enough to easily see and read everything.
    • Put the worksheet image/picture directly into your paper by going to INSERT (in Microsoft Word) and then PICTURE.Select your worksheet, and click INSERT.
    • If you have selected Option C (Cognition in Adolescence), you can follow this same procedure with your participant’s collage.
  • You MUST submit your paper to Turnitin using the link provided on Blackboard Learn by the deadline.

This assignment is worth 30 points and will be rated on the following criteria:

  • Format (did you follow the instructions)
  • Organization (flow and coherence)
  • Writing style (grammar and spelling)
  • Knowledge (displayed knowledge about theory and stages and correctly applied the concepts to the observation)
  • Analysis and explanations (gave in-depth explanations of how the participant’s performance did or did not illustrate the stage and task)
  • Conclusions (explained how the participant’s performance mapped on to Piaget’s expectations)
  • APA format for citations
  • Inclusion of notes

General writing guidelines

Imagine that the person reading your paper is an educated person, familiar with psychology, but not with any of the specific theories or concepts you mention.Even if we spent a whole class period talking about something, and you know that I am familiar with it, forget it.Pretend I don’t know.Anytime you introduce something new (i.e., a theory, concept, methodology, measure), explain it in general terms. You can then give an example if you would like, but do not use an example as a substitute for a general explanation.

The procedure and results should be relatively short. The majority of your paper should be spent discussing how well the child’s performance fit Piaget’s theory. To give you a bit of a guideline as to how long each part should be, the introduction should be about ½ a page.Your procedure and results should be about ½ a page long. Finally, your conclusion should be about 1 page.

APA formatted citations

As you draw on material that you learned in class, make sure that you cite your sources appropriately.Follow these guidelines for citing:

  • When you copy someone else (i.e., textbook, lecture, article, website) word for word, put quotation marks around the copied parts, and include the author last name(s), year of publication, and page number in parentheses. For example: Piaget’s theory suggested that an infant or child is able to move to the next stage when he or she “reaches an appropriate level of physical maturation and is exposed to relevant experiences” (Feldman, 2018, p. 118).

  • Copying word for word and not citing correctly is plagiarism.Avoid this at all costs.
  • Copying word for word and citing correctly is not as bad, but it doesn’t demonstrate an understanding of the concepts. For my class, I do NOT want you to have quotes in your papers. To get full credit, define and explain concepts using your own words. It’s hard to paraphrase when you have the book or lecture notes in front of you.Read, make sure you understand, then put the material aside and come up with your own way of stating things.Check your sources to make sure you didn’t accidentally memorize the original wording.Check your definition to against what it says in the book to make sure that your explanation is accurate.
  • When you put someone else’s ideas into your own words, simply include author last name(s) and year of publication in parentheses.i.e., Piaget’s argues that when children can accomplish certain cognitive tasks, it shows that they are developing and progressing through the stages (Feldman, 2018).

Try to adopt an outside perspective when you read over your paper.Make sure that your ideas are arranged logically and that your sentences make sense.Reading out loud can help you catch grammatical errors.Remember that I can’t read minds – you could understand something perfectly, but if it makes no sense on paper, that’s all I have to go on.

Option A: Object Permanence Task

Background Information: Many new cognitive skills are attained during the first year of life. The primary accomplishment during infancy is object permanence.Object permanence is the ability of the infant to mentally represent an object that is out of sight.By the 8th month most infants will search for an object that is partially hidden and by the 12th month most infants will search for an object that is completely out of view.

Objective: To explore an infant’s level of cognitive development using an object permanence task

Participant: An infant between 3-14 months old

Materials needed: A clean infant toy (e.g., a rattle or teething keys) and a piece of material large enough to cover the toy (e.g., towel, sheet, etc.)

Procedure:

  1. Sit down with the infant (the primary caregiver should be present).
  2. Show the infant the toy.
  3. Encourage the infant to play with the toy.(Most likely he or she will put it in his or her mouth).
  4. Take the toy from the infant and partially cover the toy with the towel (in plain view of the infant).
  5. Record if the infant searches for the toy.
  6. Give the infant the toy (if not uncovered) and encourage the infant to play with the toy.
  7. Take the toy from the infant and cover the toy completely with the hand towel (in plain view of the infant).
  8. Record if the infant searches for the toy.

General Comments on Cognition: What did you observe that indicates that the infant has or has not attained object permanence? What stage of development is your infant in?What sub-stage of development is your infant in?What are the implications of object permanence?

NOTE: Parent/guardian of child must be present during the object permanence task.

Option B: Conservation in Preschool-aged and School-aged Children

Background Information: The major tasks Piaget used to assess a child’s cognitive development are called conservation tasks. These are thinking problems that require the child to observe some transformation in physical quantities that are initially equivalent and to reason about their transformation.

Objective: To explore a preschool child’s level of cognitive development using a conservation task.

Participant: one child between the ages of 3-11.

Materials needed: one container of playdough (8 oz.).The playdough can be purchased or made by mixing one cup of flour and 1/4 cup of salt with enough boiling water to make it soft.Mix and knead well to make it “doughy”.

Procedure:

  1. Sit down with the child.
  2. Divide the playdough into 2 identical balls.
  3. Ask the child; “are these the same?”Show the child that the 2 balls are identical/same (that they have equal amounts of playdough).
  4. As the child watches, take one ball and form it into a snake.
  5. Ask, “do these have the same amount of playdough or a different amount of playdough?”
  6. Record the child’s response.
  7. Ask,“Which one has more playdough, the snake or the ball?”
  8. Record the child’s response.
  9. Reform the snake into a ball.Explain to the child that the 2 balls are the same.
  10. As the child watches, squash one ball into a pancake.
  11. Ask, “Do these have the same amount of playdough or a different amount of playdough?”
  12. Record the child’s response.
  13. Ask, “Which one has more playdough, the pancake or the ball?”

  15. Reform the pancake into a ball as the child watches.
  16. Ask, “Are these 2 balls the same?”
  17. Record the child’s response.
  18. If the child responded “no”, then ask, “Which ball has more playdough?”
  19. Record the child’s response.

General Comments on Cognition: What did you observe that indicates that the child has or has not attained the ability to conserve? What was your overall impression of how your child conserved? What stage of development is your child in?Why do you think that?

NOTE: Parent/guardian of child must be present during the conservation task.

Option B: Conservation in Preschool-aged and School-aged Children

Conservation Task:

Option C: Cognition in Adolescence

Background Information: During adolescence thought becomes hypothetical and abstract.Adolescents are able to think of multiple solutions to a problem, compare their performances in various domains, and contemplate abstract concepts such as justice and politics.

Objective: to assess abstract thought.

Participant: an adolescent between 12-18 years old.

Materials needed: a stack of magazines such as Sixteen, Young Miss, Teen, Sports Illustrated, GQ, George, Cosmopolitan, etc., scissors, one sheet of construction paper, and glue.

Procedure:

  1. Explain to the participant that he or she is to construct a collage (using the magazines) that represents who he or she is.
  2. Allow the participant to cut out pictures that describe him or herself and glue them to the sheet of construction paper.
  3. After the participant has completed the collage, have he or she explain how each of the pictures describe him or her.
  4. Record the participant’s responses for each picture.
  5. Keep the collage as you will turn it in as “Appendix B” of your paper. It should follow the Notes Section.
  6. Out of the participant’s view, classify each explanation as either abstract or concrete. For example, an abstract explanation would use a picture of lips to describe being “outspoken” while a concrete explanation would use a picture of blue eyes to describe his or her eye color.
  7. What percentage of explanations was abstract?
  8. What percentage of explanations was concrete?

General Comments on Cognition:Did your participant use formal operational thought (the majority of explanations were abstract)? What types of collage explanations did you find particularly interesting?

NOTE: Parent/guardian of child must be present during the procedure (if child is under 18 years of age).

Psychology Question

Assignment Description –

Read the vignette below and answer questions 1 through 3 following the vignette in essay format only. Please do not list the questions as headings and/or titles of essay paragraphs. The essay is a minimum of 2 pages. Use class clinical literature for references and/or other clinical research literature relevant to the discourse. I will also attach a pdf containing my colleague’s answers, however, no plagiarism can be done as this assignment will be submitted through a plagiarism report. APA format.

Vignette –

Michaela is a 40-year-old single woman who worked as a nurse. Michaela describes herself as a bi-racial, Latina and White bisexual woman. She sought treatment from you because of her deteriorating relationship with Laura, an unemployed alcoholic woman who was prone to abusive outbursts. Michaela knew she had to end her relationship with Laura but felt guilty about leaving her. Michaela was filled with feelings of “hopelessness about my future.” Michaela wanted to marry and have children but she worried that she was losing “precious time.” She often felt that it was her fate to be “alone but I don’t know why!”. Michaela stated, “I often pick the wrong women and ruin my chances with those who care about me.”

Prior to meeting Laura, Michaela had many romantic relationships that did not work out. Either she was attracted to women who were exciting, energetic, and successful but unreliable and unavailable for commitment or she broke it off with women who were stable and wanted to marry her because she found them “boring.” More recently she wondered if she was being too “hard on them. “There was one woman in particular whom she thought she loved, but she “pushed her away.” She recently learned that this woman married one of her old friends and felt a tremendous sense of loss and regret. When she met Laura, she seemed fun-loving and adventurous. Michaela soon realized, however, that Laura had a problem with drinking. Although Laura was verbally abusive to her at times, she was always apologetic and filled with remorse. Michaela felt that Laura “needed her” and she had trouble ending the relationship.

You learn that Michaela was unhappy as a child. There was a great deal of marital

discord in her household. Michaela’s mother was needed and depressed and drank excessively. Michaela describes her father as “a dynamic and successful businessman” who traveled frequently and engaged in several extramarital affairs. Michaela admired her father and sought his approval despite his unavailability and what seems to be frequent rejection of her. She experienced her mother as a “burden” and felt that she had to “really be the parent instead of her.”

Michaela’s behavior in treatment seems to change and was confusing. At times she calls you a “fantastic find” whom she is eager to please and is often overly apologetic when she is late or cancels a session. On other occasions, she accuses you of being “weak, incompetent, and insensitive.” A third perception is that Michaela seems to think that you “need her” because you “seem quite lonely.” Please reflect on the following aspects of Michaela’s case. You will be graded on your ability to do the following:

1. Provide an example of an ego function or ego defense that Michaela is using or overusing.

2. Provide a discussion of object relations theory as it applies to Michaela’s case. You must use
references to support your explanation.

3. Discuss at least one way of addressing these needs and improving your work with Michaela using the literature discussed in class.

Dietary Analysis – Part II (170 pts)

Hide Assignment Information

Instructions

Part II: Diet Analysis (170 pts)

Step 1: Creating a Profile

1. Go to the following website: https://cronometer.com/ IMPORTANT: Instructions below apply to the web-based Cronometer application. Do NOT use the mobile device App.

2. Click on Sign Up for Free in the middle of the screen.

Create your profile by entering your school email and password (8 characters).

Next, enter your sex, birth date, height, and weight. For females, leave as normal unless you are pregnant or lactating, which can be selected from the drop down menu.

Click the check box to agree to Terms of Service and click Create Account at the bottom of the screen.

3. Once you have entered the Cronometer site, click on SETTINGS at the top of the screen. Once you open SETTINGS, you will see a drop down for PROFILE. It is here you will see your ACTIVITY LEVEL. Also, the email settings are in the SETTINGS then ACCOUNT tab.

Under email, be sure to uncheck any checked boxes. Leaving these boxes checked results in promotional emails from Cronometer. Cronometer is not endorsed by UMGC, and we do not support any fad diet information that may be sent to you.

4. Staying in Profile, using the drop down menu, adjust your Activity Level to the appropriate selection based on your habits and lifestyle. Clicking on Activity Level can provide guidance on which activity level is appropriate for your lifestyle.

Note: for this project, do not link your Cronometer account with any fitness tracking devices as it may alter the accuracy of your results for this project.

Step 2: Using the Food Database

1. To begin entering your foods for Day 1, ensure you are under the Diary tab at the top of the screen.

2. Select the appropriate calendar date. It is highly recommended that you enter all three food diaries at once, using consecutive days on the Cronometer calendar (even if your log days were not consecutive), and use dates closest to today’s actual date. Because we are using the free version of the site, reports can only be done for the last 7 days so you will be unable to get a report for the days you enter if they are more than 7 days away. It’s not a problem to edit the dates in this way–it will not impact your results.

3. Click on Add Food at the top of the screen. Type the first food from your food log into the search bar and click Search. Select the food item that best matches the food you ate in the Search Results.

4. Choose the amount that you consumed at the bottom of the search box. Use the drop menu to select the most appropriate serving measurement and enter the number of servings. If less than 1 serving, use a decimal to indicate the percentage of one serving consumed. Click on Add Serving.

Note: Do not include any supplements into your food diary as you are doing an assessment of your dietary intake only.

5. If you need to delete a food item from your diary, simply right click on the food item and select Delete Selected Items.

6. Continue Steps 1-3 for all food items for your Day 1 Food Diary.

7. After you have entered all food and drink items for the first day, click on the gear found at the top right of the screen. Select “Mark Day Complete”.

8. Repeat for Days 2 and 3 by changing the date in the calendar. Again, ensure dates are consecutive in the Cronometer calendar; are within a 7-day window; and are as close to today’s date as possible.

Step 3: Obtaining Your Nutrition Report

1. Once you have entered all of your foods into the Diary for all three days and marked all three days as complete, you need to create your nutrition report to analyze your average intake of nutrients over the three days. Click on the Trends tab at the top of the screen. Select Nutrition Report.

2. At the top, select the parameters for your search [see screenshot below]. Ensure your 3 days are included in the last 7 days as the free version of this site only allows for averages from the last 7 days.

Select include today only if one of your three days was entered on today’s date in the Cronometer calendar.

From the drop down menu, select “Completed Days” instead of the default “All Days”. This will ensure your report is accurate and includes values for only days in which food was entered.

Do not include supplements in this report.

3. After your report is generated, take a screen shot of your Nutrition Report to show all nutrient values from Nutrition Report dates at the top down to Zinc You will likely need to take two screen shots in order to include the required data. [See sample screenshot below]. This step must be done as it is a requirement that you turn this in with the analysis.

4. Open this file to complete the rest of the assignment. Using the Nutrition Report above, fill in the Average Eaten columns of Tables of 1 and 2 of the file you just opened. To fill in Table 1, Energy and Macronutrients (percent of calories), use the top of the report as shown below. You will need to hover over each macronutrient name to see percent of calories from each. Do NOT use information from the sections that are crossed out on the image below.

For remaining macronutrient components and the micronutrients, use the Nutrition Report tables to obtain the information to fill remaining average intakes for Tables 1 and 2.

Using the screenshot below as an example (vitamins in this case), you will use the 1st column values rather than the red/yellow/green bar values in the 2nd column.

5. Finish Tables 1 and 2 in the document you downloaded by using the following resources for Target or RDA/AI Nutrient values.

Macronutrients: Use the AMDRs that you learned about in your text for Target values. These can be found in their respective chapters in the text (Chapters 4, 5, and 6).

Micronutrients: Use the link below for RDA/AI values for all vitamins and minerals except Vitamins A and D. For Vitamins A and D, the units from Cronometer do not match the RDA/AI units found in the link below. While this is the most recent publication for RDA/AIs, presently IUs are the preferable measurement for vitamins A and D. As a result, Cronometer provides their results in IUs for these two vitamins. Use the following reference:

Vitamin A – RDA 3000 IU for males

RDA 2,333 IU for females

Vitamin D – RDA 600 IU for males and females

Here is a detailed reference for Dietary Reference Intakes for all vitamins and macronutrients (see pp. 1-5), which will benefit the analysis portion of your paper: DRI Values

Step 4: Analysis Questions

1. Answer Questions 1-9 in the file you downloaded above based on your results in Tables 1 and 2. Use complete sentences and ensure proper grammar and spelling.

2. In order to calculate the EER equation (question #2 on the Word document you have downloaded in order to complete this assignment), you will need your PA value (physical activity). Use the following PA levels for your equation based on your gender and activity level:

Men

1.0 for sedentary

1.11 for low active

1. 25 for active

1.48 for very active

Women

1.0 for sedentary

1.12 for low active

1. 27 for active

1.45 for very active

Step 5: Submission

The following should be submitted as attachments when you have completed this part of your project:

1. Nutrition Report screen shots (as .doc or .pdf file)

2. Completed Analysis to include tables and answers to diet analysis questions (found here) (as .doc or .pdf file; File extension .docm may not upload properly to Assignment folder)

Psychology Question

Module Three has covered some of the ways that social pressure influences our actions. We are all prone to behavioral changes through compliance, obedience, or persuasive principles. We follow the rules of our society (both legally enforceable ones as well as those that are just informally polite), sometimes with little awareness of why we do what we do. But once in a while, something odd happens, and we intentionally or unintentionally break these rules. Last week, you had your second assignment due in which you broke these rules, or the norms of our society. I always have fun reading these norm-breaking assignments, so today I want you and your group to reflect on both chapter six and chapter seven to better understand your thoughts and feelings about your norm violation. Yup, this is an easy discussion, because you’ve already done this assignment! In essence, give a summarized version of your break-a-norm assignment to your fellow group members! See who was the most creative in your group! Summarize what norm you broke and how it made you feel.

Here is where the discussion version differs, though: Using the concepts you learned in chapters six and seven, talk about at least TWO key social psychological principles that influenced your behavior (one principle has to come from chapter 6 and the other has to come from chapter 7): norms, role-playing, conformity / nonconformity, normative social influence, cognitive dissonance, self-monitoring, etc. (the list goes on, but make sure you talk about at least TWO things in your initial comment!) Define the principle before showing how it applies to your norm violation.

In your follow-up comment, explain how AT LEAST ONE additional social psych factor applies to a different group member’s norm violation (that is, one that they didn’t list among their two but that you feel also applies). This one can come from either chapter 6 or chapter 7. Have fun with this one!

You will select a fictional person for your case study. This could be based on someone you know, a family member, or a fictional character who exhibits any of the atypical disorders presented in the course. Not a celebrity. You may write about yourself. If it is about a friend or family member make sure that you change names and write in third person about them (he, she, they). Ask the question “How does this person exhibit symptoms or behaviors that represent some sort of atypical behavior? Write an analysis essay paper of the individual including a description of symptoms, diagnosis, social factors, and treatment. Use examples to describe and support the analysis and scope of the disorder presented by the character. Use of the DSM 5 for symptoms should be included. The DSM 5 symptoms are in the Textbook and Canvas. This must be an original paper written in your own writing style and matching your weekly writing style. Also include in your paper the use of first person narrative (I think, in my opinion, I noticed that…). Read rubrics

Psychology Question

This is book you can find a single newspaper, you should sent a capy of newapaper or artical that you used. And you should use evidence from the book

Myers, D. G. & DeWall, C. N. (2019). Exploring psychology (11th ed.). New York, NY: Worth.General Psychology – Critical Thinking Assignment (Parts 1 & 2)https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://dokumen.pub/exploring-psychology-eleventh-edition-9781319104191-1319104193-9781319127763-1319127762.html&ved=2ahUKEwj-zqzEpP_yAhUGVc0KHas2BewQFnoECAgQAQ&usg=AOvVaw1onijw22x_7u7ry-OK0-sB

Part 1:

For this assignment, you will need to find a single newspaper or magazine article (i.e., Time, Newsweek, New York Times, Kansas City Star) written for the general public which makes a claim about some psychological topic; do NOT use a peer reviewed or scholarly journal. Do NOT use an advertisement, blog, or an .org extension. The article must have a title and an author.

Read the article, then read it again! If you cannot tell someone what the article is about after reading it multiple times, find a different article. Remember almost everything has a psychological component (e. g., dreams, study techniques, happiness, health, sports, relationships, and family). Critically evaluate the article by doing the following:

Published Information: (approximately1 – 2 paragraphs each for A & B )

A) Identify and summarize the claim that is being made (who, what, how, where, why, and when). Describe the evidence presented to support the claim. For example, how did the author come to this conclusion? Is it based on scientific evidence? Is it an observation? Is it someone’s opinion? You may include no more than one direct quotation and absolutely NO block quotes. Use this opportunity to paraphrase; tell me about the article just as you would tell a friend.

B) Find something in your book that ties in with the topic or claim of the article; either supporting or refuting the article assertion. Identify and summarize the information from the book (who, what, how, where, why, and when). You may include no more than one direct quotation and NO block quotes.

Your Opinion:(a paragraph for each of the following)

C) Do you agree with the author(s) or not? Based on the available evidence from the book and article, what is your conclusion regarding the idea[s] being presented and why? (refer to the available evidence to support your conclusion).

D) What alternative explanations are possible for the evidence that is presented to support the claim you are exploring? Does it appear that there were things that were overlooked or not considered? (e.g., did the research consider all ages, gender, socioeconomic status, education, culture, geography)

E) What further evidence or information would help to better evaluate the ideas? What further research would provide this evidence?

F) Compare the advantages of valuing scientific evidence compared to other types of arguments. Are there disadvantages to scientific evidence?

Format:

For this paper use APA 7th edition, the latest edition of the style used by Psychology. The assignment folder contains multiple examples of APA style. Use them. The following link contains basic information about APA style: http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/01/

My pet peeves are contractions and redundancy. There are NO CONTRACTIONS in APA Style! Say what you need to say and do not waste my time re-reading information because you are trying to fill a page. Also, always refer to the article you are using by the last name of the author and year of publication and the book as Myers and DeWall (2019).

Your assignment must be typed and double-spaced. Use one-inch margins and a 12-point Times New Roman font only.

Length – There is no maximum number of pages. Take as many pages as you need, but no more, to address all of the points in the outline above (practice parsimony). As a general guideline, you should be able to address all of the points in less than three pages of text. Points A and B should take a page and a half max. Make each point (C – F) a separate paragraph. A paragraph is a minimum of three sentences.

Include a title page and a reference page in addition to your two or three pages of text.

Be aware of plagiarism. Plagiarism may result in a zero on the assignment.

Psychology Question

A logic model is a tool that can be used in planning a program. Using a logic model, social workers can systematically analyze a proposed new program and how the various elements involved in a program relate to each other. At the program level, social workers consider the range of problems and needs that members of a particular population present. Furthermore, at the program level, the logic model establishes the connection between the resources needed for the program, the planned interventions, the anticipated outcomes, and ways of measuring success. The logic model provides a clear picture of the program for all stakeholders involved.

To prepare for this Assignment, review the case study of the Petrakis family, located in this week’s resources. Conduct research to locate information on an evidence-based program for caregivers like Helen Petrakis that will help you understand her needs as someone who is a caregiver for multiple generations of her family. You can use the NREPP registry. Use this information to generate two logic models for a support group that might help Helen manage her stress and anxiety.

First, consider the practice level. Focus on Helen’s needs and interventions that would address those needs and lead to improved outcomes. Then consider the support group on a new program level. Think about the resources that would be required to implement such a program (inputs) and about how you can measure the outcomes.

By Day 7

Submit the following:

  • A completed practice-level logic model outline (table) from the Week 7 Assignment handout
  • A completed program logic model outline (table) in the Week 7 Assignment Handout
  • 2–3 paragraphs that elaborate on your practice-level logic model outline. Describe the activities that would take place in the support group sessions that would address needs and lead to improved outcomes
  • 2–3 paragraphs that elaborate on your program-level logic model and address the following:
    • Decisions that would need to be made about characteristics of group membership
    • Group activities
    • Short- and long-term outcomes
    • Ways to measure the outcomes

Psychology Question

After reading Fox et al., (2001) assigned in the “Prepare” folder and the Baby Human Fox Lab videos assigned in “Learn” answer the following questions. While this is a completion grade your answer must demonstrate that you have read and watched the assignment materials to receive credit for that questions.

1) Write a brief (~500 words) summary of Fox et al., (2001)

2) How does the Fox et. al (2001) study line up with the Thomas and Chess or Rohbart models of temperament? List 2 similarities. List 2 differences.

3) If you were accessing “Jack” in the video “Nathan Fox – The prohibitive plant” based on Thomas and Chess’s model of temperament, how would you classify him, and why?

4) If you were accessing “Emily” in the video “Nathan Fox – The prohibitive plant” based on Thomas and Chess’s model of temperament, how would you classify him, and why?

5) Define “Goodness of fit” using the examples provided in the video the “Prohibitive Plant”

Continuity and discontinuity of behavioral inhibition and exuberance: psychophysiological and behavioral influences across the first four years of life.

Four-month-old infants were screened (N = 433) for temperamental patterns thought to predict behavioral inhibition, including motor reactivity and the expression of negative affect. Those selected (N = 153) were assessed at multiple age points across the first 4 years of life for behavioral signs of inhibition as well as psychophysiological markers of frontal electroencephalogram (EEG) asymmetry. Four-month temperament was modestly predictive of behavioral inhibition over the first 2 years of life and of behavioral reticence at age 4. Those infants who remained continuously inhibited displayed right frontal EEG asymmetry as early as 9 months of age while those who changed from inhibited to noninhibited did not. Change in behavioral inhibition was related to experience of nonparental care. A second group of infants, selected at 4 months of age for patterns of behavior thought to predict temperamental exuberance, displayed a high degree of continuity over time in these behaviors.

Psychology Question

People in the United States vary widely in their acceptance of the sexual and gender choices and orientations. The impact of those with views of lesser acceptance is felt the hardest by the most vulnerable among us- our children.

Watch the following video of a Ft. Worth City Councilman speaking about his experiences as a young man marginalized based on his sexual orientation and consider the impact such a message would have on a young person in a similar situation and on an adult who is intolerant of the LGBTQ community.

· Joel Burns: It Gets Better https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ax96cghOnY4(transcript located on YouTube site)

Compare and contrast what you believe the experiences of these two individuals (the insecure LGBTQ youth and the intolerant adult) viewing this message would be. How might it reinforce existing beliefs about themselves or motivate them to see themselves and/or the world differently? What additional information would you propose to share with either or both of these individuals to persuade them into such a paradigm shift?

Write a 5-paragraph essay that includes each of the elements listed below in the grading rubric. Be sure to use at least 2 references to support your essay. Your paper must meet the minimum 750-word count requirements AND use the 5 paragraph structure.

All assignments and forums in the class are designed for you to demonstrate yourunderstanding and your knowledge of the material content. It is never acceptable or appropriate to simply provide information that is copied and pasted from a source – any source. Even if the information were cited properly, copying and pasting does not demonstrate knowledge.

All assignments are submitted to Turnitin, which is a plagiarism checking tool. Any assignment receiving a score of 30% or better raises serious concerns about the originality of your work. An originality score should generally be no more than 20%. Assignments with originality scores between 20 and 50% will have points deducted. Any originality score over 50% after review will be graded with a 0. Please keep this in mind as you are submitting work.

Psychology Question

Sample topic: Effects of stress

Guidelines 1 page, single spaced

  1. Follow the correct format:
    1. 1 inch margins from all sides
    2. Times new roman or Arial, font 12
    3. Double spaced
    4. 2-3 references with in-text citations
    5. Other requirements of APA citation style (pay attention to correct referencing).
  2. Thesis statement: This will be the last part of introduction, and should contain all the 3 points that will be discussed in the body, with each body paragraph taking 1 point. Make sure to bold your thesis statement
  3. Grammar: Proofread your paper at least twice, pass it through Grammarly. There are no grammar mistakes expected. Use native English
  4. I have attached a guide on how to write a good thesis statement, and how to structure paragraphs
  5. In order to make your paper logical we recommend choosing ‘5-paragraph (550 words) essay‘ structure for your
sample-paper. This is the most common and easily understandable structure for a short essay. In 5-paragraph
    essay
    each paragraph has its purpose:

    1. 1st – introductory paragraph. This should contain a thesis sentence, the main idea your paper
      will defend or narrate about.
    2. 2nd, 3rd and 4th – body paragraphs. Each paragraph should represent
specific idea or thought that is important for your essay, and should contribute into supporting the key
      argument of your essay.
    3. 5th paragraph – conclusion. This last paragraph should not contain new ideas. It should only
summarize the ideas you have already laid out in your paper and logically conclude the entire writing.
  6. What to avoid in your writing:
    1. Run-on sentences – a type of sentence in which 2 or more independent ideas are not separated by
comas or full stops. Such sentences are messy and are generally considered a mistake typical for a
      primitive writing style.
    2. Too short or too large paragraphs – each paragraph should not be less than 3 lines and should not
exceed your other paragraphs. The amount of writing required to support your ideas should be more or
less equal. The paragraphs should also not be too short since they all have to contain their own
introductory sentence, body part and concluding sentence.
    3. Huge citations – cite original sources only when it is really needed. Avoid useless
citations intended merely to pour the water in your writing. Also, be sure to correctly format your
citations according to chosen citation style. Remember to use specific format requirements for large
citations (check your chosen citation style guide for more details).
    4. Confused thoughts and ideas – it is important that your writing is easily understandable
and ‘user-friendly‘. Whatever is the topic of your writing, it should be easy for reading.
Avoid complicacy and rather simplify your thoughts

Psychology Question

Please respond to else two classmates

Classmate one

Depression is defined as a mood disorder characterized by a persistent sense of sadness and, in many cases, a profound loss of interest in activities that normally bring you pleasure. Depression affects how you feel, think, and behave, and it can impair your ability to function and go about your daily life. The common depression disorders consist of Disruptive Dysregulation Disorder, Major Depression, Persistent Depressive Disorder( Dysthymia), Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder, Substance/Medication- Induced Depressive Disorder, and Depressive Disorder Due to Another Medical Condition (Schimelpfening, 2021).

Disruptive Dysregulation Disorder is a common condition that causes children and adolescents to be persistent, irritable, angry, and to have frequent, intense temper outbursts. Major Depression is characterized by experiencing five of more symptoms of: feelings of hopelessness or sadness, decreased interest in activities, significant weight loss/appetite increase or decrease, insomnia or hypersomnia, fatigue, psychomotor agitation, diminished ability to concentrate, and recurring thoughts of death. Persistent Depressive Disorder( Dysthymia) is a chronic major depressive disorder that is present for most days over a period of two years. The symptoms are the same as major depression disorder.
Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder is a serious health issue that is similar to premenstrual syndrome (PMS). Prior to the week or two before your period, PMDD causes severe irritability, depression, or anxiety. Symptoms typically disappear two to three days after your period begins. Substance/Medication-Induced Depressive Disorder is distinguished by a prominent and persistent change in mood, exhibiting clear signs of depression or a marked decrease in interest or pleasure in daily activities and hobbies, and these symptoms begin during or shortly after the use of a specific substance/medication (American Psychiatric Association, 2013).

Bipolar disorder is a mental health condition characterized by periods of extreme mood disturbances that affect mood, thoughts, and behavior. Bipolar disorders are classified into two types. Bipolar I disorder is characterized by episodes of mania, hypomania, and major depressive episodes. Mania episodes are distinguished by a distinct period of abnormally and persistently elevated, expansive, or irritable mood that lasts at least one week. Individuals may experience inflated self-esteem, decreased need for sleep, more talking than usual, racing thoughts, an increase in goal-directed activity, and excessive involvement in activities with a high potential for painful consequences during this period. Hypomania episodes are characterized by having a higher energy level than individuals with mania, these symptoms will be the same. Finally, major depressive episodes are the same as major depression disorder. Major depressive episode is characterized by a two-week or longer period during which a person experiences the following major depression symptoms: sadness and hopelessness, fatigue, weight gain or loss, changes in sleeping habits, loss of interest in activities, or suicidal idealization. Bipolar II disorder is a milder form of mood elevation, characterized by milder episodes of hypomania interspersed with periods of severe depression. A person suffering from mania will exhibit manic symptoms but will be able to carry on with daily responsibilities, and may even see an improvement in job performance or other goal-directed activity. The elevated mood, on the other hand, is not severe enough to necessitate hospitalization or cause significant disruption at home or work (American Psychiatric Association, 2013).

Bipolar disorder is easily confused with depression because it can include depressive episodes. These disorders are similar because the symptoms are common between each form of depression and the two types of bipolar disorder. For example, the similarity to depression and bipolar disorder both leads to the individual mood being altered which can affect their daily lives on how to operate throughout the day, which leads to them either being emotional or not able to operate as they normally do. Overall, in order for clinicians to not misdiagnosis individuals with depression or bipolar disorder they have to fully understand the different symptoms and episodes that occur in clients.

Classmate two

There are many cases that included more than one similar diagnosis. In the case of diagnosis, a client may have many symptoms for a disorder versus two symptoms for another. Depressive and Bipolar Disorder have similar symptoms that may cause difficulty in diagnosis. According to the DSM5, a bipolar disorder is identified as mild 296.42(F31.11, moderate 296.42(F31.12), severe 296.43(F31.13), etc. A bipolar disorder and related disorder, like depressives, may consist of different moods. Bipolar disorders are separated from depressive disorders. If a client experiences bipolar l or bipolar ll, they may have experienced major depressive episodes(Pg.123). The symptoms for bipolar l and ll last for consecutive days. During the episodes of major depressive, five or more symptoms may be present during the same 2 week period. The symptoms of major depressive episodes may include, depressed moods, loss of interest, weight loss, insomnia or hypersomnia, fatigue, worthless feelings, little to no concentration, and even thoughts of death(Pg.125).

Psychology Question

Description

For this assignment you will apply your knowledge of research ethics, sampling methods, measurement reliability and validity, and survey design to assess the quality of a hypothetical survey research project.

The aim of this assignment is to demonstrate your skill in

  • recognizing ethical considerations in a survey research project,
  • assessing the sampling procedures in a survey research project,
  • identifying factors that might affect the reliability of a psychological measure,
  • identifying factors that might affect the validity of a psychological measure, and
  • evaluating the design of the content and format of survey items

    Scenario

Suppose that the chief administrator of a large prison is interested in developing a psychological measure that can be used to predict which incoming prisoners will be more likely to comply with prison rules and respect the authority of corrections officers. To achieve this goal the prison administrator hires a team of psychological researchers and gives them the assignment to develop a measure of individual differences in submission to authority that can be administered to prisoners with the goal of identifying which individuals might be at risk of these types of discipline problems. The team of researchers constructs a 10-item self-report survey measure that includes items that are designed to assess individual differences in submission to authority. To test the properties of this measure the research team plans to administer the survey to a sample of incoming inmates. Specifically, the survey will be administered to incoming inmates by a corrections officer during the inmate’s initial processing session, when they are first admitted to the prison. The corrections officer will use a list of randomly generated numbers to determine which incoming inmates will be included in the sample. The list contains 500 randomly generated numbers. Each incoming inmate is assigned a number from the list sequentially upon their admission to the prison. The corrections officer proceeds through the list sequentially assigning inmates a number from the list of random numbers until the officer reaches the end of the list. For example, the first number on the list of random numbers will be assigned to the first inmate who is processed for admission after the study is launched, then the next admitted prisoner will be assigned the second number on the list, then the next prisoner gets assigned the third number on the list, and so on until the officer reaches the end of the list. If the number that an inmate is assigned happens to be an even number then that inmate is included in the sample. If the number that an inmate is assigned happens to be an odd number then that inmate is not included in the sample. The research team plans to recruit a sample of 180 participants using this method.Participants receive the following self-administered survey. Please read through the survey instructions and survey:

    Assignment Steps (file is attached)

For this assignment answer all of the following questions about the overall design of this hypothetical study and the proposed measure of submission to authority. Your answers may be formatted either in full sentences or point form. However, make sure that your points are explained clearly. There is no word limit for responses. You can use single or double-spacing and 12-point font. For your convenience the midterm assignment questions are provided below as a downloadable word doc and also in table form.

Psychology Question

Practical Application Paper:

For this assignment, find a movie or television that depicts a person with a mental illness in the DSM-V. You will then research the disorder and write a 500 word APA-style paper describing the scene(s) portraying the mental illness and addressing whether it is portrayed accurately or inaccurately, You must support your conclusions with research about the disorder for at least three academic references. This assignment is not designed to stereotype people with disorders, but rather for you to consider how accurately disorders are represented in popular media. You cannot use an example that was also used in the lecture slides. It is your responsibility to know what these examples are and ensure you do not use one for your assignment. Your paper should include the following components:

An introduction describing the media example you selected.

    1. Explain the show/movie with enough detail so that the intended reader can understand even if they have never seen the example.
    2. If you choose a television show, you may describe a single episode rather than the entire series.
  1. Provide three pieces of evidence of the show portraying symptoms/behaviors of the disorder, using at least one academic source to support each piece of evidence.
    1. Explain the scene portraying the behavior and explain whether it is an accurate or inaccurate portrayal of the disorder based on your research.
    2. Be detailed. You want your reader to be able to see exactly why this character has or does not have this disorder. Include the information you used to make your determination.
  2. Include a references page with your three references listed at the end of your paper.
    1. Include at least three references

How Do I Know If A Source Is Credible?

Who is the author? Credible sources are written by authors respected in their fields of study. Responsible, credible authors will cite their sources so that you can check the accuracy of and support for what they’ve written. (This is also a good way to find more sources for your own research.)

How recent is the source? The choice to seek recent sources depends on your topic. While sources on the American Civil War may be decades old and still contain accurate information, sources on information technologies, or other areas that are experiencing rapid changes, need to be much more current.

What is the author’s purpose? When deciding which sources to use, you should take the purpose or point of view of the author into consideration. Is the author presenting a neutral, objective view of a topic? Or is the author advocating one specific view of a topic? Who is funding the research or writing of this source? A source written from a particular point of view may be credible; however, you need to be careful that your sources don’t limit your coverage of a topic to one side of a debate.

What type of sources does your audience value? If you are writing for a professional or academic audience, they may value peer-reviewed journals as the most credible sources of information. If you are writing for a group of residents in your hometown, they might be more comfortable with mainstream sources, such as Time or Newsweek. A younger audience may be more accepting of information found on the Internet than an older audience might be.

Be especially careful when evaluating Internet sources! Never use Web sites where an author cannot be determined, unless the site is associated with a reputable institution such as a respected university, a credible media outlet, government program or department, or well-known non-governmental organizations. Beware of using sites like Wikipedia, which are collaboratively developed by users. Because anyone can add or change content, the validity of information on such sites may not meet the standards for academic research.

This should be done on COUNSELING PSYCHOLOGY

I have written in bold what should be added for that specific section.

You will write an APA-style review paper dedicated to the area of specialization in psychology that is most relevant to the occupation you would like to eventually enter (e.g., industrial/organizational psychology if you want to become a human resources director, counseling if you wish to become a school counselor, and developmental psychology if you would like to own and operate a daycare center). The body of this paper—not including the title page and reference section—will be at least 10 pages long, and will be organized into the following sections:

1. Title Page. A title page that includes the title of your paper, your name, and your institutional affiliation (5 points).

2. Discussion: A discussion of the following:

    • The history of this area of specialization, including its relationship to other areas of psychology and/or other academic disciplines (10 points)
    • Two of this area’s psychological theories that are relevant to the work (5 points) (This should be done on the Hierarchy of Needs & Attachment Theory)
    • Two of the research methods that researchers in this area of specialization commonly use to gather data and test hypotheses (5 points) Case study & Observational study
    • A description of two empirical studies from the professional literature of this area and an explanation how the results of each study can, or have been, used to promote human welfare. The studies must come from a peer-reviewed journal. (10 points)
    • A specific occupation in this area of specialization that you plan to eventually enter. Include an accurate description of this occupation, the tasks a person in this occupation is required to perform; and a list of the specific types of knowledge, skills, and characteristics (i.e., work styles) a person needs in order to be successful in this occupation. The information for this section must be gathered from O*NET (http://online.onetcenter.org/) or a similarly credible source that has been approved by the instructor. (5 points)
    • An explanation of how you have used specific curricular (e.g., classes) and extracurricular (e.g., internships) opportunities during your undergraduate education to accomplish the knowledge, skills, and characteristics you identified in the previous section. Understanding this discussion addresses your personal experiences, it is appropriate to use first person (I, my, me). (10 points)

    3. References: A reference section containing at least five scholarly references. (Do not use generic dictionaries/encyclopedias. Use only websites ending in .edu, .org, or .gov.) Textbooks should not be used as part of the required sources. (5 points)

Formatting: Structure your paper utilizing APA style (7th Edition); this includes title page, headings, in-text citations, reference page, and general paper format (1-inch margins, double-spaced, appropriately sized sans serif or serif fonts – e.g., 12 Times Roman). • Write notes about your dreams as soon as you wake up.
    • Write notes about your dreams as soon as you wake up.
    1. Here are some suggestions for recalling your dreams:

    a. Put a flashlight and a pad of paper by your bed for a week; if you awaken from a dream, write them down immediately (while in bed).

    b. Set your alarm clock for about 1/2 hour earlier than usual. Your chances are much higher of catching a dream right before waking than at other times.

    c. Before you go to sleep, remind yourself about your dream project. That will encourage your mind to remember your dreams.

    5. Provide as many details as you can. Name the people in your dreams. Write whether they are strangers, people you seem to know in the dream (but don’t know), friends, or relatives. Also, try and describe colors, surroundings, and how long the dream seemed to last. Describe the feelings you had about the dream when you awoke. Did you feel positive, negative, scared, angry, or worried? What happened in the dreams? Were any of your dreams recurring dreams?

    6. To gain high marks you must also attempt to interpret your dreams. Use the dream vocabulary and visit the Dream Web Sites to gain an understanding of the symbols in your dreams. What do your dreams say about you? Why do you think you are having these types of dreams at the moment? How can you benefit from understanding more about these particular dreams? What do the symbols (spiders, monsters, birds, cars, certain people, etc) in your dreams mean or refer to?

    Dream Log Reporting Requirements

    Dream 1

Include the date, the time, estimate of dream’s length (not sleep length).

    Dream Manifest Content (storyline)

Describe the actual dream in detail. For example, who were the people in your dream? Were they strangers? Did you seem to know these people in the dream? Were they friends or relatives? Were they friends you haven’t seen in a long time? Describe the colors, surroundings, objects. Was it daytime or nighttime? Could you see yourself? Were you looking down (birds-eye view)? Were you or anyone else talking in the dream? Was the dream in black and white or in color?

    Your Feelings

Why were you in a particular place? How is the dream related to your life at present, or in the past? What do your dreams say about you? Why do you think you are having these types of dreams at the moment? How can you benefit from understanding more about these particular dreams? Is this dream a recurring dream? Indicate the web sites you used with a citation.

    Psychology Question

Hello this is the last part of a 4 part paper. It has to be in APA. Use the sources that have been used in the previous two papers. I will answer all the questions of the prompt and you can expand it and add literature to it basically. This paper is for a counseling program. For the sources you can look them up online and I can provide you with the link to the book. I will attach the first three papers. I already provided some comments to the answers and you can expand on that and add some literature.

    • When did you first notice the idea of becoming a counselor?
    • (MY OWN COMMENT: I noticed the idea of becoming an academic counselor after I have been through many struggles in school and I had counselors who helped me reach this point. I also am the type of person who likes to listen to others share their stories and try to give some advice.)
    • What told you that it was important to you?
    • (It is important to me because I want to give back what I have received. I want to be there for other undocumented, immigrant students and also students from different backgrounds and I want to encourage them to pursue an education. My inner voice told me how important it is to support others who are doubting themselves it motivates see others succeed.)
    • How did your experience in this program impact your identity as a future counselor?
    • ( This program has taught me about a lot of perspectives and theories I was not aware of. It definitely prepared me to work with different kinds of people. I learned that the same method does not work for everyone. Each individual is different and I need to work with each one in a different way. I learned a lot about self awareness and how to be careful with my language. Something that is really important that I have learned is that the counselor or therapist is not always the expert but the client is in some cases. This is something I did not think of before. My identity as a counselor has completely changed because now I feel more prepared and excited to start my counseling journey. I was more self conscious before and did not have as much courage as now.)
    • What are you currently doing that is a reflection of your preferred ways of practicing counseling as a profession?
    • (Currently I am trying to do some practice sessions with family in friends to prepare myself to work with actual clients. I think the more practice I have the easier it becomes for it to flow. I also try to rely on theories that I have learned throughout the program).
    • What are some of the new insights you have gained through this capstone project? (Be sure to ground your insights in the literature by using citations.) (This project has helped me realize which theories work for me and how I need to use different methods for different clients. It also gave me an opportunity to talk to other experts in the field)

    Psychology Question

Document your life or the life of someone you know through digital storytelling. You are to cover the physical, cognitive, and psychosocial development of the individual at different stages (e.g., infancy, early childhood, middle childhood, etc.) through your story.

In addition to the presentation of the digital storytelling project itself, you are also expected to submit a 1-2 page report that describes work on the storytelling assignment. The report should address each of the following items:

    1. Who was the main subject of your digital storytelling assignment? What was your relationship to this individual?
    2. Why did you select this individual?
    3. Describe the process you went through in completing the assignment. This should include a list of where the content for the storytelling came from, what items in the project changed from the early stages of selecting the topic through completion, plus any other information that describes your work on the assignment.
    4. Describe the major challenges you faced in creating this digital storytelling assignment and if, and how, you overcame them.
    5. Discuss the most significant things you learned from completing the project.
    6. Please add any other information you feel should be included in the report.

    RESOURCES FOR THE ASSIGNMENT:

The Educational Uses of Digital Storytelling (Links to an external site.) – This websites outlines how digital storytelling can be used in educational settings and shows examples of digital storytelling projects. This website also contains the software you need to do this assignment.
Digital Storytelling is the practice of using computer-based tools to tell stories. As with traditional storytelling, most digital stories focus on a specific topic and contain a particular point of view. However, as the name implies, digital stories usually contain some mixture of computer-based images, text, recorded audio narration, video clips and/or music. Digital stories can vary in length, but most of the stories used in education typically last between two and ten minutes. The topics that are used in Digital Storytelling range from personal tales to the recounting of historical events, from exploring life in one’s own community to the search for life in other corners of the universe, and literally, everything in between. A great way to begin learning about Digital Storytelling is by watching the following video introduction to Digital Storytelling.

    Psychology Question

In short, the basic requirement is to write a coherent essay relating developmental domains and theories to practice of teaching and working in educational settings. You need to draw on specific course concepts, readings, and developmental literature (textbook) that addresses the issues/ideas you will discuss. You will be evaluated on how well you have been able to relate developmental domains and theories to educational settings and children’s learning.

I will provide all materials needed for the assignments NO OUTSIDE SOURCES.

Paper Content: In writing your paper:

Think about a domain/area of child/adol. development covered in the first half of the course, and a specific age period, that you as an educator would like to promote in your working with children or families. Examples of areas of child/adolescent development covered so far include: Cognitive, Physical, and Language development.

    1. a) Why is it important to study/understand this developmental domain/area for children’s growth and learning?
    2. b) Discuss the competencies and features, including shortcomings, that can be seen in this domain of development during your chosen age period.
    3. c) Choose one or two developmental theories covered in the course that you feel provide tenable mechanisms of change for supporting the development of competencies in your chosen domain and age period. c1) What specific competencies will you target? c2) What mechanisms of change does your chosen theory (or theories) propose? c3) What kinds of evidence have theorists used to support these mechanisms of change?
    4. d) How would you implement these mechanisms of change through specific practices in your classroom? (In your answers to c and d, be sure to integrate terminology and concepts from the developmental domain and theory to demonstrate understanding of these concepts/terms (e.g. zone of proximal development)). To supply evidence for your claims of the effectiveness of particular strategies or mechanisms, use examples of studies, or talk (conversational transcripts), from the course textbook, lectures, supporting videos, and articles, as well as from your own personal experience, as evidence to support your claims.
    5. APA style
    6. Include references on a separate page

    Psychology Question

PSYC203: Tackling the Pandemic and Long-Term Impacts

Big idea: How will the Covid-19 pandemic affect human development?

The Covid-19 pandemic will continue to affect many aspects of our lives for years to come. The purpose of this paper is to pick one area and look at it from a developmental psychology point of view.

You will need to use concepts and theories we have been covering this semester. I understand we are only beginning to see research as we are still dealing with the pandemic itself. That said, you will be looking at what information you can find now, what is being speculated, and then using your own terrific thinking and what we have been covering, talk about what you see as developmental implications for one of the topics below. Pick something that interests you- it will make the project far more interesting. If there is something not on this list that you would like to write about, check with me.

Here are some possible topics drawn from that big idea:

Impact on education for a particular age group (elementary, high school or college)

Food insecurity and hunger for a child or adolescent

Mental health for a particular age group

Impact of being quarantined with family for a year

Racism which has been made worse by the pandemic

Relationships and intimacy for those in emerging or early adulthood

    Impact on friendships

The college experience and what this means now and later

Implications for higher education – more schools might assume that more can be moved online. What does that mean to you as students?

Ageism and treatment of the elderly

Having a baby at this moment in history

Employment and unemployment – both in general and as you think about your own future

What will the workplace look like? What has been the impact of work from home in terms of how we will return to the office environment

Impact on domestic violence and all forms of abuse

Technology use, abuse and how it will govern our lives in the future

Health care- who has access, who doesn’t and what we need going forward

    Silver linings?

??? If you have an idea that is not here, check with me!

What resources can you use to complete this assignment?

Use our textbook and any readings/resources in the content area of our class.

Use articles that come from reliable sources- peer-reviewed journals, web sources that are based on research and/or input from experts in the field, and you may also use newspaper and magazine articles. Just make it clear what is “academic.”

You may choose to interview someone. This can allow you to gain insights from that person to use in your paper, quoting them, etc. For example, the experience of being quarantined has been very different for families with children, young single adults, elderly people living alone and so forth.

Remember, while you are sharing your opinion, you are grounding this in science, theories and psychological concepts.

How should you structure your paper?

    1. Formulate a thesis statement about what you want to focus on, critically analyze, and write about. Your introduction should include your topic and an overview of what the paper will cover

    2. Use headings as they will help organize the flow of your work

    3. The paper will need a summary and conclusion section at the end and include any unanswered questions you have. We do not have all the answers yet, but this assignment will help you learn to engage in educated, informed, speculation.

    4. Use APA format- this means Times New Roman 12 pt font, double-spaced with 1-inch margins (no, I don’t measure, but I can tell if you have super wide margins). Be sure your citations and references are in APA format. Be sure you have both a title page and a reference page

    5. Please take care with writing mechanics. Poor grammar, run-on sentences, sentence fragments and spelling errors all will cost you points. If this is an are of concern for you, please remember, MC Writing Centers are open and doing virtual appointments.

How long should this paper be?

Papers will be graded on quality of work, not quantity of words/pages. That said, I would expect quality work to be at least 5 pages. Remember: title page and reference page are not part of the page count.

This is a chance to show some mastery of what you gleaned in the course and an opportunity to reflect on a difficult time in our individual and collective lives. By writing, we can come to think more clearly and know what we know and feel what we feel.

    Other questions you might have

Can I write this based on my own experience? Yes, you may but this is not a requirement. Some of you may feel comfortable doing this and others may not. Some of you may be more interested in an aspect of the pandemic that has not affected you directly.

Can I use first person if I write about my own experience? Yes

One last thing: We will be talking about the big topic of the pandemic during our last class discussion, so once you’ve done this assignment, you will have an easy time with that last discussion!

Submit to the assignment folder. Please submit as a word file (not a pdf), labeled as follows:
    Lastnamefirstinitial.pandemic.

    Point Value: 100 points

    Psychology Question

Select just one of the following topics.

    1. Look only at the Euthyphro. Socrates says that piety and justice might be like fear and shame. In what way does he say that the two might be alike? Read the entire text. He suggests that the two concepts – fear and shame – come apart. In what ways do they do so? Cite the text to support your claims. Then, relate the discussion of fear and shame back to the discussion of piety and justice. What does Socrates want to say about these ideas?

    2. HCC says the following: “We will be the opportunity institution for
every student we serve – essential to our community’s success.” Broadly
    – and incompletely – ‘success’ can be interpreted in two ways here.
What might they be? Is there a notion of ‘success’ that our community
could achieve that is somehow not worth achieving?

Use the ideas from Immanuel Kant and Jeremy Bentham to explicate the
two potential meanings of ‘success’. Then, explain how those meanings
might yield different interpretations of the passage quoted at the
beginning of this prompt. Which notion of ‘success’ is it proper for
us to seek to achieve? Or, is there one that it is proper for us to
seek to achieve? Defend your answer.

    3. Bentham argues that happiness of individuals is the sole end to which legislators ought to consider. He also says that overall happiness is the only standard to which individuals ought to be made to adjust their behavior. If these statements are Bentham’s view, then what are the areas in which the individual should have freedom from legislation? Are there any? Use, among other things, Bentham’s 4 sanctions of pleasure and his utility calculus to answer this question.

Each of these topics requires about 4 to 5 pages of double-spaced writing. You should cite the text to help your interpretation.

The topics are constructed so that they do not require outside research. You can sit down with the relevant texts, your notes, and perhaps a cup of coffee, to work through the ideas and answer the questions. These are not research papers. They’re philosophy papers. Check out the sample term paper for an example of what that means. Note that the example is, like Socrates in the dialogues, your guide. You should look for its virtues and try to embody them as you construct your own paper.

The following identifies the factors I consider in grading papers. It also identifies how much weight I put on each factor.

    • Review the Learning Resources, including the case of Jane available in Chapter 9 of your Kress and Paylo (2019) course textbook.
    • Consider the diagnosis that would best fit Jane’s presenting concerns.
    • Read the handout, Jane: Diagnostic Conceptualization Example, in the Learning Resources and render a diagnosis based on the case study.
    • Think about the ethical concerns you will need to consider when delivering the diagnosis to Jane.

    Diagnostic Conceptualization Template

    Client Name Jane*

Case Conceptualization (Note: Include specific information about client symptoms and presenting concerns-

Jane is a 35-year-old Caucasian female who self-referred for treatment. Jane reports experiencing feelings of withdrawal, sadness, and hopelessness. She stated that she has struggled to maintain relationships and has lived with her mother her entire life. Jane’s relationships are often volatile and characterized by others viewing her as “needy”, “dramatic”, “emotional” and “crazy.” Jane declines any current religious involvement but noted some interest in exploring Buddhism and spirituality.

Jane has a history significant for sexual abuse by hier older brother and her brother’s best friend. Jane reported that the abuse took place from the ages of 4 to 14 and stopped only when her brother left home. Jane reported that she has never disclosed the abuse to her mother. Jane has experienced instability in relationships with friends, and reported no support system beyond her mother. Jane struggles with individuation and often internalizes the interests of her others.

Jane tends to think very concretely and she struggles with a general negative outlook. She has a past history significant for severe self-injury (i.e., self-cutting). She’s also had periods of suicidal thoughts but she reports no current suicidal ideation at the time of session. Jane also has a history of disordered eating but she reports that she has not engaged in any binge/purge behavior for approximately the past several years. reports that she has the ability to induce an asthma attack and she admitted to doing so at least twice weekly over the course of the past year in an effort to seek medical care. Jane has previously attended college but is not currently enrolled. She was the first individual in her family to attend college and she reports that her mother was not supportive of her education. Jane reported that she would like to eventually return to school but she fears that she will be able to complete her studies until her medical care is addressed.

F60.3 Borderline Personality Disorder (Reason for Visit)

F33.1 Major Depressive Disorder, Recurrent, Moderate, Provisional

    F43.1 Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Provisional S.L. E.

Rationale for Diagnostic Impressions (Note: Use the DSM-5 to explain how the client’s symptoms are reflected in the diagnostic criteria for each diagnosis that you render. If you do not render a diagnosis, you still must use the DSM-5 to explain why you chose not to render a diagnosis.)

    DEESIT T

Jane’s medical history includes past diagnoses of F33.1 Major Depressive Disorder, Recurrent, Moderate and F43.1 Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Provisional. Based on her current presentation, it appears that reason visit is related to symptoms of F60.3 Borderline Personality Disorder. EL DOT COUN 6720

    To prepare:

    • Consider the diagnosis that would best fit Jane’s presenting concerns.
    • Read the handout, Jane: Diagnostic Conceptualization Example, in the Learning Resources and render a diagnosis based on the case study.

The goal of this brief writing assignment is to focus on observational skills. For this assignment,
you will be analyzing a segment of the film “Babies” from a scientific, observational lens. Please
focus on the babies’ behaviors and their interactions with their environments. Below are
some prompts to guide your response and organize these observations, which should be no
more than one page. Please pick one or two of the following questions to respond to in your
assignment. Please submit your paper to your TA by 5PM on 10/15.

-What kinds of information are the babies paying attention to and have access to?
-How do babies explore their environment differently in different cultures? In what ways does
    that change with age?
-How is the caregiving structure and social environment different for these babies and what are
the effects of this on their behavior?
-What is most similar across cultures about infant behavior and most different between cultures
    about the babies’ lives?
-Pick one type of infant behavior for an in-depth comparison across the different families? (e.g.,
    eating, playing, sleeping)

Papers will be graded using the following guidelines:

    1. 1) Did the paper address a question using the suggested guidelines and was it clearly
related to a topic from the film? (3 points)
    2. 2) Was it an appropriate length (more than a short paragraph, no more than one page)? (2
      points)
    3. 3) Did the paper have a structure? For example, was there a topic sentence of some kind,
supporting details or facts and conclusions? (8 points).
    4. 4) Did the paper have sufficient depth or provide thoughtful analysis of the topic? The
analysis should be focused on the movie and developmental psychology. (10 points)
    5. 5) Was the writing clear, readable and proofread (not riddled with spelling or grammatical
      errors)? (7 points)

    Psychology Question

Topic areas can include: international relations, business management, or any other that can be assessed.

Your task this week is to further narrow down your potential topics for your dissertation work. In addition, you will start to identify scholarly resources and search engines to help prepare you to begin an exhaustive review of the literature.

Begin by choosing three general potential topic areas to study. Then, you can obtain a research topic after completing a literature review. For example, you might want to explore bullying among children with learning disorders. At this point, you are not searching for a single, narrow topic and crafting a research question. You will start from the beginning, exploring several different topics of interest to you so that you can begin searching for literature on each topic. This literature will support the need for further inquiry into a topic rather than just basing it on your interests. Once you become familiar with the research and theory that exists regarding your topic, you can begin to identify if further research is needed.

Next, you will describe each general topic and the degree to which each is worthy of master-level study in psychology. Include your thoughts on possible problems in the area that would allow you to make a contribution to theory. A “master-level” study problem is one that contributes to our understanding of theory – “our” meaning psychologists and scholars. The key to theory contribution is beginning with a specific theory. Consider what theories may be associated with research in each topic area of interest to you.

Finally, you will identify several search terms/key words you could use to gather a number of peer-reviewed resources for each potential topic area. You will also make note of potential resources and search engines you can use to obtain scholarly sources.

    Length: 5-6 pages

References: Include a minimum of five scholarly resources.

    Psychology Question

Select a Topic for Your Critical Review

This assignment is an analysis of a selected neuropsychological disorder. The disorder you select this week will be used to complete the Week 1 assignment (topic selection). You will continue to use the same disorder to complete the Week 2 assignment (elaboration on pharmacological management of the same disorder), and the Week 6 assignment (comprehensive Critical Review of the same disorder and its management).

Your completed Week 1 and Week 2 assignments will be used as a foundation to help you complete your Week 6 assignment (Critical Review) on the same disorder. Thus, your work in Week 1 and in Week 2 will be used to support your work in Week 6.

Select a neuropsychological disorder from the following list. Your selection of topic should be based on your personal or professional experience, or your own academic or personal interest in the topic. Be sure to use current terminology from the American Psychiatric Association’s (2013) Diagnostic and Statistical Manual 5 (DSM-5) if this disorder is discussed in that resource. Please note that Substance Use Disorder (SUD) (drug abuse, substance abuse) is not the emphasis of the course. Critical Reviews focusing on SUD or drugs of addiction will not be accepted.

Please select your topic from the following list:

    • Schizophrenia
    • Major depressive disorder
    • Bipolar disorder
    • Anxiety disorder
      • Choose and focus on one of the anxiety disorders (g., generalized anxiety disorder or social anxiety disorder).
    • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
    • Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
    • Neurodevelopmental disorder
      • Choose and focus on one of the neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., autism spectrum disorder or attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder)
    • Personality disorder
      • Choose and focus on one of the personality disorders (e.g., borderline personality disorder).
    • Neurocognitive disorder
      • Choose and focus on one of the neurocognitive disorders (e.g., one of the dementias).
    • Neurological disorder
      • Choose and focus on one neurological disorder (e.g., multiple sclerosis, spina bifida, seizure disorder, Parkinson’s disease or any other movement disorder, chronic pain, traumatic brain injury or other acute brain injury, stroke, infectious brain pathology such as meningitis or encephalitis, migraine headache).
    • Other neuropsychological disorder found in the DSM-5 (American Psychiatric Association, 2013) but not on the list above
      • This option must be approved in advance by the instructor before your assignment is submitted.

In keeping with the focus of this class, the emphasis of your paper should be on the neurobiology of the disorder and the related drug treatment that is used in clinical management. Other modes of treatment are not the focus of our class. For instance, papers that discuss psychotherapy, other than in passing, will not be given credit. This week, please focus on the neurobiology of the disorder (in Week 2, you will continue to elaborate on the disorder from the perspective of drug treatment). In your paper, please be sure that the following aspects of your topic are discussed:

    • Explain the theories of etiology (causes) with a focus on the neurobiology of the disorder (the pathology of the disorder with an emphasis on the abnormalities of nervous system structures and function, including those neurotransmitter systems involved).
    • Describe the symptomatology of the disorder and its relationship with the neurotransmitters involved.
    • Discuss any anatomical changes seen with this disorder, and explain the relationship between such changes and the symptoms seen in the disorder.
    • Close your paper with a summary how the dysregulation of neurotransmitter(s) and any anatomical changes would explain the physical signs and behavioral symptoms displayed by the individual diagnosed with this disorder

Please research your topic and obtain a minimum three scholarly and/or peer-reviewed sources published within the last 5 to 10 years. These sources should provide evidence-based information to help support your analysis, focusing on the aspects described above. Be sure to cite your sources in your paper and include them on your References page. You may utilize required or recommended course materials in your work, but these will not count towards the reference requirements; however, you may cite and reference the American Psychiatric Association’s (2013) DSM-5 as one of your sources used for the grading credit.

    The paper:

    • Must be three to five double-spaced pages in length (not including title and references pages) and formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Writing Center.
    • Must include a separate title page with the following:
      • Title of paper
      • Student’s name
      • Course name and number
      • Instructor’s name
      • Date submitted
    • Must use at least three peer-reviewed sources or scholarly sources published within the last 5 to 10 years. You may utilize required or recommended course materials in your work, but these will not count towards the reference requirements; however, you may cite and reference the American Psychiatric Association’s (2013) DSM-5 as one of your sources used for the grading credit.
    • Must document all sources in APA style as outlined in the Writing Center.
    • Must include a separate references page that is formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Writing Center.

    Psychology Question

Assignment: Group Design, Selection, and Screening (CNL 520 ASSIGNMNT)

You have been tasked to design a counseling group from start to finish. To start this task, select one of the following group types.

    • Children of divorce
    • Children of addicts
    • Adult Survivors of abuse (could be sexual or physical)
    • Treatment for adults who are addicts
    • Grief recovery
    • Teens struggling with gender dysphoria (sexual identity)
    • Teen support group (parents who are addicts)
    • Relationship building (homosexual and heterosexual – there does not have to be a division because a group is a group)
    • Domestic violence group for nonoffenders
    • Parenting group

Now that you have selected a group type you need to consider the other details of your group as well to include how new members will be selected. When determining which new members to add, it is suggested you follow a screening process to ensure they are a good fit for the group.

Create a 12-15-slide presentation about your group that includes the following:

    • Group type
    • Why you chose this type of group
    • Population serving
    • Number of sessions
    • Number of participants
    • Goals of the counseling group
    • Theoretical approach(es) to be used in the group
    • A set of screening questions and criteria that you, as the group leader, will use to choose the members of the group. Begin with demographic questions (name, age, address, presenting issue, etc.) There should be a minimum of 10 screening questions, not including the demographics questions.
    • Speaker notes on each slide that would represent what you would say if giving this presentation in person.
    • Use a minimum of three scholarly references in addition to the course textbook to support the findings.

Title slide and reference slide are not included in the slide count. Include speaker notes below each content-related slide that represent what would be said if giving the presentation in person. Expand upon the information included in the slide and do not simply restate it. Please ensure the speaker notes include a minimum of 50 words.

Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required.

This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.

You are required to submit this assignment to LopesWrite. Refer to the LopesWrite Technical Support articles for assistance.

    Psychology Question

The foundational tasks of any employee assessment and selection system are the recruitment of appropriate candidates and the measurement of skills and abilities. Potential applicants are recruited from a number of sources to find the best-qualified people. Applicant characteristics are assessed during the application process in order to select the applicants who will succeed on the job. Accurate reliability and validity measures of assessments will improve the predictions industrial-organizational psychologists and human resources professionals make for selecting employees.

For this assignment, you will apply critical thinking skills and logical reasoning to develop an assessment and selection system. Imagine that a company has been struggling with hiring appropriate employees and your team has been asked to develop a recruitment strategy plan and an assessment and selection system for a particular job.

Select a job. Based on information from the textbook and your team’s research, create a recruiting strategy and an assessment and selection system based on the KSAOs identified from O*NET or a job analysis.

    Please include the following information:

    Recruitment Strategy

Develop a recruitment strategy for this particular job opening.

Include ideas for recruiting nontraditional and diverse candidates in your recruiting strategy.

    Assessment and Selection System

Identify and describe the important KSAOs and competencies required of a successful employee for the job chosen.

Choose at least three critical KSAOs you want to assess for job selection and placement.

Identify and describe which measurement methods to use for measuring and collecting data.

Evaluate the integrity and usefulness of each measure when deciding which measurements to use (examples include validity, reliability, adverse impact, usability, etc.).

Analyze the assessment methods and rate how each measurement will predict candidate job performance and retention.

    Assignment Guidelines
Your assignment should be a 4- to 5-page paper, not including the title and reference pages, and should include the following elements:

Title page: Provide the names of all team members, assignment title, course and section number, and date.

Body: Answer all the questions in complete sentences and paragraphs.

Reference page: Sources in APA format

Include at least three scholarly, peer-reviewed references.

Use Times New Roman 12-point font, double-spaced and left aligned.

Use standard 1″ margins on all sides.

Use APA formatting and citation style.

If you need assistance with APA style, please visit the Academic Success Center.

This assignment assesses the following Course Outcomes:
PS451-1: Explain factors affecting employee recruitment, selection, placement, and retention.
PS451-4: Examine the assessment process used in industrial/organizational psychology.
PC-1.2: Contribute to team goals and objectives through active participation and collaboration.

    Psychology Question

Reflection is the ‘glue’ of learning, and provides an opportunity for students to reflect on, and integrate, their reactions to the material presented in the course.

**Note: This Final Reflective Paper must be completed by each student independently, without consulting others. Do not discuss the questions and/or your answers with other students or other individuals.

    Reflection Paper:

This Reflection Paper should demonstrate your ability to present a critical analysis and reflection of your learning of course material- Textbook Chapters AND Dr. Pitt’s Lecture Notes. You will also demonstrate the depth and accuracy of your understanding of academic concepts from the course, in addition to your ability to write coherently and concisely.

Now that PSYC*3570 has come to an end, go below the surface – take a deep reflective look at what you learned in the course and focus on the following in this reflection paper:

    General Reflection

    • What was meaningful to you in relation to the course content? Why?
    • What represented an “Ah Ha Moment” for you with regard to your knowledge of death and dying? Why? Perhaps this “Ah Ha Moment” was something that shifted your previous understanding of a course concept, or the “Ah Ha Moment” was a new concept that sparked your interest.

Reflection Concepts Involved in the Course

    • What are 2 different concepts covered in the Required Readings – Textbook Chapters – AND Dr. Pitt’s Lecture Notes– that you find compelling? (This can relate to specific concepts that you would like to reflect on OR 2 general threads in the content which are meaningful to you).
    • How have these 2 concepts influenced you with regard to death and dying as a person?
    • What are 2 questions about death and dying that you still have? Why?

    Reflection on Next Steps

    • Continuing, broadening and deepening learning is important. Take some time to think about next steps in your learning with regard to death and dying.
    • What could be courses or workshops you would like to take to further your foundation of knowledge of death and dying? Why?
    • How will you use the information you learned in the course – personally and professionally?

Important Points Regarding the Reflection Paper

    • This paper should be 1,000 words in length
It is important to remain within 100 words above or below the word limit.
Writing less or more will affect your grade on the full Reflection Paper
    • Incorporate references to course material (in-text citations and References) following APA 7th Edition formatting. Ensure that you balance the use of referenced material with your own critical analysis of your learning. The references should support your critical analysis and academic ‘voice’ – rather than be a compilation of the work of others.
    • Do not include material related to your Personal and/or Peer Response Posts for Discussion 1 or Discussion 2, or your Group Project in this Reflection Paper.

    Overall Quality of Reflection Paper

    • This Reflection Paper should demonstrate articulation and organization of your thoughts including clarity, conciseness, logical flow, organization, grammar, spelling, and punctuation throughout.
    • This assignment must be formatted according to APA 7th Edition, which includes:
      • the use headings to organize the paper (you can use the 3 headings above for each section of the paper)
      • double-spacing between lines and after headings
NOTE – do not include extra spacing at the top and bottom of each page, after headings or between paragraphs or sections
      • format all 4 margins to 1” or 2.54 cm NOTE – if your laptop or computer has a default setting of 3.17 cm for left and right margins – you must re-format the settings to 2.54 cm.
      • use 12pt. Standard font Times New Roman, or Calibri 11, Arial 11, Lucida Sans Unicode 10, and Georgia 11

Once your group has completed the Group Charter and Final Report, one member will transfer the information for each part to their final formats and submit them through the group submission links in Weeks 8 and 10, respectively. Once the group has completed the presentation, one member will transfer the information to its final format and submit it to the Week 11 Discussion. Do not delete the assignment from the Wiki format, as your Instructor will review this area to evaluate each member’s participation. You will also complete a Group Evaluation, where you constructively evaluate each member’s participation in the group.

During Week 4 of the course, your Instructor assigned you a group for conducting the final Phase III of the criminal investigative analysis, Writing the Report.

In this Assignment, you will work with your group in the Group Wiki area to produce the Group Charter. This document will set the ground rules and expectations for all members of the group.

Assignment 2: Criminal Investigative Analysis Phase III: Writing the Report

When writing a report for a criminal investigative analysis, a criminal investigative analyst should always provide a foundation for any conclusion reached. Language that implies certainty, unless there is an evidentiary foundation for such certainty (i.e., DNA results), should be avoided. When discussing issues of motive and intent, care should be given to not cross into the legal concept of intent and to not comment on the ultimate issue that may be before a jury (guilt/innocence). The report should be professional and devoid of biases.

    To prepare for this Assignment:

    • Work with your group in the Wiki area of the classroom to write the Final Report to the local law enforcement agency concerning the criminal investigative analysis.

In an 8- to 10-page report, include:

    • Referral questions
    • Documents reviewed
    • Literature regarding type of offense
    • UCR data to support analysis
    • Summary of offense
    • Analysis
      • Crime scene
        • Motive
        • Intent
        • Premeditation
        • Affective violence
        • Predatory violence
        • Expressive/instrumental violence
        • Signature/ritual
      • Victim
        • Pre-offense behavior
        • Offense behavior
        • Post-offense behavior
        • Victimology
        • Risk level
        • Victim/offender dynamics
      • Offender
        • Pre-offense behavior
        • Offense behavior
        • Post-offense behavior
        • Risk level
        • Motive
        • Intent
        • Premeditation
        • Aggression
        • Victim selection
    • Findings/conclusions
    • Recommendations
    • Qualifiers

Support your conclusion with references to specific evidence, the Learning Resources, and other academic resources.

The criminal investigative process, analysis, and conclusion can potentially have tremendous impact on investigations, prosecutions, and, ultimately, individual lives. As such, analysts must always remain objective in their analyses and conduct their analyses with the highest ethical integrity. They must always be aware that any analysis involves the potential influence of biases and be diligent to avoid any biases.

This week, you will analyze potential biases and ethical issues related to criminal investigative analysis and explore ways criminal investigative analysis can impact social change. You will also submit your final group report.

    Learning Objectives

    Students will:
    • Analyze biases that might affect criminal investigative analysis
    • Analyze ethical issues related to criminal investigative analysis
    • Analyze ways criminal investigative analysis can impact social change
    • Evaluate the evidence in a crime
    • Present findings, conclusions, and qualifiers of a criminal investigative analysis
    • Recommend action based on findings of a criminal investigative analysis

Discussion: Biases and Ethical Issues in Criminal Investigative Analysis

The criminal investigative analysis process can have an impact on investigations and prosecutions. As such, a forensic psychology professional must be aware of his or her own biases. There are many different biases that might affect conducting the analysis, writing the report, and even in potential courtroom testimony. Analysts must be aware of these biases and take steps to prevent the influences of these biases in their final work.

In this Discussion, you analyze biases and ethical issues that might affect criminal investigative analysis. You also analyze ways criminal investigative analysis can impact social change.

    To prepare for this Discussion:

    Review the Learning Resources.

    By Day 3

Post a response to the following:

Describe different biases that might affect criminal investigative analysis. Describe at least one ethical issue related to criminal investigative analysis and how you might address the issue (e.g., hired by prosecutor/defense, relationship with victim’s family, confirmation bias, expanding outside professional lane). Then, explain how criminal investigative analysis may impact social change. Provide an example.

    By Day 5

Respond to at least two of your colleagues with a substantive, interactive discussion that continues through Day 7 by suggesting additional ways of addressing the biases and ethical concerns.

    Psychology Question

TOPIC: Write a short essay speculating about the following questions: For most people, the goal of sex is to have an orgasm. How might our sexual lives be different if the goal were different? (0.5 points) What might sexual encounters be like if we truly abandoned orgasm as a goal? (0.5 points) Would they be better or worse? (0.5 points) More varied or more methodical? More intimate or less? (0.5 points) Why? (0.5 points). (0.5 points will be given for proper formatting and academic writing, including page length and proper grammar).

    Formatting:

All assignments should be at least one full page of text, double spaced, with 1” margins all around, and no extra spaces between paragraphs; also, you should use a Sans Serif font (e.g., 11pt Calibri, 11pt Arial, or 10pt Lucida Sans Unicode) or a Serif font (e.g., 12pt Times New Roman, 11pt Georgia, or 10pt Computer Modern).

Although it is usually good practice to include your name on your assignments, you do not actually need to include your name on these assignments, because – by virtue you submitting your assignment via Canvas – your name will automatically be associated with your assignment. That being said, if you do include identifying information (e.g., your name) directly on your assignment, that identifying information will NOT count toward your 1 page minimum. For example, if you use two lines to write your name and student ID number, then your assignment should end on at least line #2 of page #2 in order to meet the minimum 1-page requirement.

If the small assignment prompt has several questions for you to answer, it is OK (and perhaps, preferable) for you to write your assignment in a question & answer format (where you write the question from prompt question #1, then write your answer to prompt question #1, then write prompt question #2, and the write your answer to prompt question #2, etc.).

If you choose to write your assignment in an essay format (as opposed to Q & A format). please be sure to break your writing up into paragraphs.

-Your assignment must be at least one full page long….and it is also perfectly OK if your assignment is more than 1 full page long.

    Psychology Question

I have an assigment that requires three pages. easy english and no copying from google.

For this assignment, you’ll be designing a more effective approach to studying for your friend who is struggling using your knowledge of how memory works.

    Objectives:

    • Define memory and its constructive process.
    • Explain the function and process of sensory memory.
    • Review the course principles of short-term memory (STM) and how it compares to working memory.
    • Describe the core features, functions, and various types of long-term (LTM), and how to improve it.

    Instructions:

STEP 1: Understand Your Friend’s Situation.

Imagine that one of your best friends is struggling with his classes. He aspires to graduate in exercise science and go on to earn a degree in occupational therapy, but he failed his first two chemistry exams. He’s feeling nervous about his performance and comes to you for advice. During your discussion, you learn that:

      • he gets easily frustrated while working on chemistry problems after approaching them the way he has always approached problems in his other classes
      • he is sleeping less than five hours a night
      • he works on chemistry homework every Tuesday and Thursday night, but not on other days
      • he always keeps his phone on vibrate to check if he gets messages while he studies
      • he usually studies by re-reading the chapter
      • he pulls all-nighters before exams

Step 2: Develop a More Effective Study Plan.

Based on what you’ve learned from your friend, create a more effective study plan for him.

In your 2-3 page paper or PowerPoint slideshow, explain to him why his studying habits are ineffective and what steps he can take to improve his success in the course. Include appropriate vocabulary from this module on memory, as well as anything else you’ve learned about consciousness and problem-solving from our other modules. Keep in mind that by crafting this study plan for your friend, the suggestions can also be used to help improve your approach to learning!

    Psychology Question

Hello this paper should be 7 pages long in APA format. I will include two textbooks that can be cited. Those are the only sources that need to be used. I will provide the prompt below and under each number I will comment about myself because this is a self reflection paper and it will make it easier to write the paper. A hint they gave us is also to look back at our discussions we had done in the class in the past so I will provide them just in case after the question is accepted. The paper has three parts so you could split it evenly like maybe 2.5 pages each and answer all the questions below with the information I am going to provide and you can expand on that and also add from the book and discussions. Extra information is that we had a weekend where we participated in groups and a group project and I mention those a lot below. I explained the points based on myself and my group and you can expand on the ideas. I have pretty much started and I wrote almost a page but you have to write it in proper form and expand.

PROMPT AND MY OWN COMMENTS FOR CLARIFICATION

    Reflection Paper (100 points totals)

Reflect on what you have learned about yourself, the group process, and others throughout the semester of experiences in CSP 672. This is an opportunity for you to process your own group experience from the perspectives of a group member, leader, and co-leader. Be sure to write in specific and concrete terms rather than general and global terms (substantiate your points with concrete examples). If you mention other group members, use their initials only. Address the following in your paper.

    1.Self reflection

    a. What did you learn about yourself as a group leader? Must include the following points:

  1. Focus on personal qualities, beliefs, and attitudes that may enhance or detract from your effectiveness as a group leader
  2. b. What did you learn about yourself as a group member? Also, assess the extent to which you achieved personal goals that you identified at the beginning of the semester as a group member.

    c. Identify some countertransference issues that you encountered or may encounter in the future based on your experiences in the small and/or large groups.

    d. Describe your strongest and weakest skills as a group leader and your plan for addressing skills that need improvement beyond this class.

(My own comments: For the first question, I always used to only be a group member and I really never was a group leader before. I was to shy to actually lead a group so I always held back. I learned about myself that I actually have the courage to be a group leader. Being in the intensive group I learned that once you are engaged with the others and they trust you the process becomes more natural and easier. One thing that was hard for me as a leader is I did not want to overshare information but I also wanted to build trust between me and others so I need to find balance between that. I learned as a group member that I feel less lonely when others share their experiences whether it is similar or different. I learned that I feel empowered by others. A personal goal I achieved is to not hold back and share personal information with others. At the beginning I was more skeptic of sharing information. I learned how to become vulnerable as a group member. Something else that I have learned is that I became a better listener. One thing in a larger group that I have experienced was that sometimes everyone would wait for the other person to share and there was a couple quite minutes. Or the opposite would happen where someone would overshare and others did not get a chance. My strongest skill as a group leader is active listening and paying attention to detail and remembering and paying attention to each members story. Something I need to improve is my self esteem and self doubt in being a leader. I need to stop holding back and focus on my goals.

    2. Group process reflection

    a. What did you learn about the group processes that will help you run groups more efficiently in the future? Ensure to include the following:

    * describe how your small group (in the lab) functioned and what you have learned about how groups function and malfunction.

    * Describe the evolution of your lab group in terms of stages of development and specific group processes (e.g., level of trust established, the impact of working with co-leaders, conflict and/or resistance, cohesion)

    b. Describe the personality of your group, and how did your group maintain that personality?
    c. What factors in the group prevented your group from moving forward or process deeper.

(My own comments: Something I learned is to that not everything works out perfectly from the first time and to have patience. It is important to trust the process because the members and leaders need to get to know each other and build trust first. Another thing I learned is that it is important to not overtalk someone and to go one by one so everyone gets a chance to share. In our small group all the members were participating and active. Our group leader in the first session was very clear and made it go more smoothly since I did not know many of the other group members we introduced ourselves first. I learned how comforting words can be and how language can make participants more comfortable. At the beginning the members shared a little about themselves the topics evolved in the second round and third and people started to become more talkative and sharing. I think working with co leaders made the process easier. It felt less pressuring. In the last round I noticed cohesion because the members started getting more emotional other group members were supportive. There was not any type of conflict or resistance in the group we had. But as a leader I learned that if there is any type of conflict or resistance to take it slow and focus on the details. It is important to listen and not to argue with a member to be able to focus on a solution. It is not always the best to be in the “expert” role. I think that limited time might have prevented my group from moving forward. I think universality would describe my groups personality because we shared the similar experiences which helped us see what others are going through and not feel that we are alone. I think that a lot of members wanted to share more but we wanted to respect each other and give each other space to share.

    3. Leadership reflection

    a. What do you think was your strengths and weaknesses in leading the group (talk about skills, personal qualities, etc)?

    b. What are your plans in improving identified weaknesses/skills?

    c. How was your experience as a leader/co-leader different from your experience as a member participant?

(My strengths are that I am culturally competent. I am a good listener, I keep eye contact, I pay attention to detail, I am patient, I am committed. I have empathy and cultural humility. (I think one of the discussions discussed that topic you can get more ideas from there). Weakness would be that I am a little insecure in leading bigger groups. Another thing would be facing criticism. I would have a hard time receiving negative comments.

My plans to improve it is to practice with a group of friends or family. I would also have to improve building my self-esteem not doubting myself and facing criticism without becoming hopeless. (here you can find ways to help it). Differences between being a leader would be that you get to hear others. It is definitely harder because you want to give feedback that does benefits them and does not hurt them in any way. It feels like a bigger responsibility. However, it is a great experience and feeling to be able to hear others, help them and engage with them. The best feeling in the counseling profession is have the trust of others and them sharing their stories with you. As a member it is a little bit more laid back however sometimes it arises feelings of anxiety sharing personal information with a bigger group. However, getting feedback as a member and feeling supported makes the process feel better. It is also good to hear other people share so we do not feel lonely or alone in our journey. In both positions as a leader and member it is amazing how people develop from the first round until the last. In both positions I got to build a stronger relationship with the others session after session.

    Psychology Question

    Discussion: Test Misuse

Test ethics cover both the creation and use of tests. For this Discussion, you concentrate on the implications of test misuse. These can relate to test use with diverse groups, licensure issues, adverse impact, or test security, to name a few.

Some important basic ethical principles regarding testing are as follows:

    • The construction of tests needs to be done using appropriate psychometric procedures, so that the test will provide valid measurement.
    • When tests are used, they need to be properly selected. The test should be valid for the purpose used and should not be outdated. The selection should take into account the purpose of the testing and should also take the examinee’s language, culture, and disabilities into account.
    • The test needs to be administered according to proper protocol in order to maintain standardization.
    • The test needs to be interpreted and reported fairly, and the report needs to be stored properly. The responsible psychology professional should prevent misinterpretation and should prevent reporting that results in incorrect decisions or that causes the client unnecessary emotional harm. He or she should also protect the client’s confidentiality.
    • Test givers must maintain the security of test materials. Many tests, such as the Wechsler intelligence tests or the MMPI, have been developed over a period of decades. Public familiarity with these tests would destroy their usefulness. Test publishers generally have standards controlling who can buy and use their tests.
    • A test has an “adverse impact” when it results in substantially different employment decisions (e.g., hiring, promotion, termination) for one group vs. another group. This adverse impact is unlawful if there is no justification for it. For instance, some jobs might have tests of physical strength that result in fewer women being hired. The employer would need to demonstrate that physical strength is a legitimate job requirement.

To prepare for this Discussion, think of potential negative effects of tests not being administered, stored, or interpreted according to ethical principles. Consider the effects on both the individuals being tested and, potentially, the population at large.

    With these thoughts in mind:

Post two potential effects of test misuse on individuals being tested and on the population at large. Support your answer with references to the APA Code of Ethics and other relevant standards.

Be sure to support your postings and responses with specific references to the Learning Resources.

Read a selection of your colleagues’ postings.

    Psychology Question

Hi this is a essay/paper in APA format please make sure no typos and grammar errors. The page is supposed to be 8-12 pages so I would like it to be around 10. Please use the book by Gehart to find a theory from the class, we have done some discussions before. PLEASE make sure that it is a theory that you fully understand and that works with the prompt. For any questions please refer to me. I will provide the book and then you need 5 additional peer reviewed sources. You will also need a movie character please share who with me before starting the assignment also share the theory with me before starting. SO once you find a character and a theory share them with me before you start the whole assignment. DO NOT HESITATE TO ASK QUESTIONS.

    BOOK LINK: https://wetransfer.com/downloads/61770f1c5c27f837e…

    THE PROMPT IS BELOW

    Instructions:

-Identify one theory (FROM CSP 638) that you will use in this case conceptualization, particularly one that you are drawn to for any reason (whether it’s pure curiosity, a sense of connection to it, or any other variation). Provide a brief introduction to the theory, with an explanation of the philosophical underpinnings and connected techniques. Be sure to situate the distinctions this theory and other theories, particularly in their social/historical context, philosophical underpinnings, constructions of identity, and how change is understood.

-Once you have identified this, then identify a character from a popular movie/book/TV series as your “client” (examples: Darth Vader, Walter White, Harry Potter, etc.). Be sure to select a character that has a fairly well-developed background story and character identity, as this will greatly support you in completing this assignment.

    – In your essay, describe this client as if they are coming to see you for therapy, and describe their presenting problem, necessary background information, and other items deemed important. This description should reflect an intake or some imagined context in which the client is coming to see you. Refer to Gehart’s case conceptualization chapter at the end of the book for further details on what might be necessary. Developing the identity of this character MUST BE situated in the espoused preferred theory for the assignment.

-Clearly describe a treatment plan for this client from the chosen theory. Refer to your book on how you can broadly conceptualize a treatment plan. Please respond in narrative format, describing what you would do (with questions you would ask written out!), in the beginning, middle, and ending phases of treatment. Note that provided examples in texts come from specific theoretical models, so you may have to adjust your language depending on the theory you are using. Shaping your language to your theory is critical in this assignment, and includes interventions, client descriptions, and phases of treatment.

-Feel free to use Gehart’s templates as a GUIDE, but keep in mind to not plagiarize content that she is using. Feel free to be creative in developing this, but please make sure your organization is clear and allows the instructor to track what you are doing, and the distinctions you are making between theories. Again, this needs to be in narrative format, not using the template

8-12 pages, not including title page and references

Utilize five (5) pieces of peer-reviewed additional research to support any client-specific issues that arise in your work. The chosen article/journal/book should be situated within the theory you have selected.

    Psychology Question

    Assignment Content

    1. Resource: Inferential Research and Statistics Project
Complete Part 3 of the Inferential Research and Statistics Project.

      Expectations for PowerPoint Presentations

Ensure you develop your presentations with the proper number of slides suggested under the assignment and meet the learning objectives for the presentation as well. You are required to include at least 3 credible research sources, one of which MUST be the textbook, for presentations. Sources and graphics need to be properly cited and referenced in APA 7th edition style.
You need to include in-text citations on each of your individual slides in addition to completing reference slides at the end of the presentation. Keep in mind your title slide should include your presentation title, your name, and the date of submission.
Slides should have no more than 7 words a line and 7 lines per slide (7×7 rule), using short phrases and simple sentences. Provide only key points on your slides – use your speaker notes for more detailed information. Limit the information on your slides to essentials. Font size on your slides should be between 24-48 points in easy-to-read fonts like Arial, Courier or Times New Roman. If you need multiple slides for your references, this is fine but realize these do not count toward your total slide count for your content. Avoid using ALL CAPS and use the same font style for your entire presentation. Avoid using font colors that are difficult to read – avoid the color red in particular. For a professional look on your slides, use two spaces between all words. Remember to avoid using abbreviations and acronyms on your slides.
Graphics and special effects are wonderful but keep in mind not to overload your slides with too many graphics, too much text, or too many effects. The general rule is no more than 2 graphics per slide. However, you should not have a presentation that lacks graphics completely. Also, please ensure you cite/reference your images appropriately in APA style.
Ensure you include your Part II Excel output for your t-test on one slide and also explain the corresponding results of this test in the presenter notes.Speaker/presenter notes are required for every slide in the presentation. Presenter notes are where you include your specific information that explains the information on your slides. Your presenter notes should be written using complete sentences (no outlines). Your notes should be where you explain your slides and provide your audience with more information about your topic. Think of your notes as what you would be saying if you were to give this presentation in person to a room full of people. As such, the information should flow and should be clear and free of errors. Your presenter notes and your slides should be proofread and spell-checked. Please ensure your work is original. I do check for plagiarism.
